Shit you’re right. Never mind. I still like that scenario though.

If you can get the bye, you take it and don't worry about the rest.

Just having to win 2 vs 3 is always better.

I worded that wrong.

And it would be tough for Hou to pass the Pats to get the 3 seed because they would have to have 4 losses which would then put them ahead of us. So NE going to BAL before going to us is very unlikely.

Honestly any type of bye would be icing on the cake at this point. I think back to Mahomes in Denver. That night I would have signed up for a healthy Mahomes and getting the 3 or 4 seed in a heartbeat.

Yeah, if the Texans Chiefs and Pats all finish at 12-4, would we end up with the 3 or 2?

3 way tie would have the Texans move on due to head to head sweep. From there they would revert to 2 team tie breaker where Chiefs win via head to head as well. So we would be the 3 NE the 4. So I guess technically NE could come to us but not with us having a bye as well.

Wouldn’t it be Houston? H2H over both

O.city 12-02-2019 12:45 PM

That seems right, but for some reason I thought head to head didn't work in a 3 way.

Could be true idk

If not then it’s conference W-L

Most likely scenario for the Chiefs to get a bye as the 2 seed is this.

wk 14: Ravens beat Bills, Chiefs beat Pats, Houston beats broncos

wk15: Chiefs beat Broncos, Tennessee beats Houston, Bills beat Steelers, Pats beat Bengals, Ravens beat Jets

wk 16: Bills beat Pats, Ravens beat browns, Chiefs beat Bears, Houston doesnt matter

wk17: Pats beat fins, bills beat jets, Chiefs beat chargers, houston vs ten doesnt matter

1 - Ravens 14-2
2 - Chiefs 12-4
3 - Pats 12-4
4 - Houston 11-5
5 - Buffalo 12-4
6 - Steelers 9-7 - or whatever you want here.

You can interchange a Houston loss anywhere they just need to drop one. Pats just need to drop 2 more somewhere but i thought this was most likely. Ravens i don't think are losing anymore games although it could happen, again most likely to me that would also give the Bills an L we'd need.

the Patriots lose 3 in a row? 2 in a row at home?

Yep, most likely way to get the 2 IMO. Didn't say it's very likely :)

Alright I went through the playoff machine and here is what I get:

AFC:
1. Baltimore (14-2)
2. New England (13-3)
————
3. Kansas City (12-4)
4. Houston (11-5)
5. Buffalo (11-5)
6. Pittsburgh (9-7)

NFC:
1. New Orleans (13-3)
2. San Francisco (13-3)
3. Minnesota (12-4)
4. Dallas (10-6)
5. Seattle (12-4)
6. Green Bay (11-5)

So Kansas City’s road would be PIT at Arrowhead, NE in Foxborough, and Baltimore on the road.

What’s really crazy is that the Bills could be the one seed and the Chiefs the two seed.

If the Bills win out and the Chiefs win this week, the Bills are the one seed. This scenario is actually the case as soon as this weekend.

If that happens plus the Chiefs win out and the Ravens and Texans each lose one more game then we are the two seed with the Bills as the one seed. Not likely but not completely impossible.

I'm just not sure that's very likely.

I just don’t see us winning in NE AND Baltimore fellas.

Is it possible? Of course, but it’s HIGHLY unlikely.

We just have to hope we can have another good draft/offseason and come back strong in 2020.

Probably. That's gonna be tough.

If the defense can get and stay healthy, they can win in New England. Baltimore just looks like another animal.
