All is as it should be.

Cuz another couple years with Alex Smith would have brought out the Sea of Black and flying banners and Clark Hunt knows it.

Reid and Dorsey have been the biggest Alex defenders by far. If they didn't like him they wouldn't have signed him to an extension genius.

You could say if they liked him they wouldn't have drafted Patrick Holmes but like I said I don't think Patrick is anywhere near being ready. They are preparing for the future that is all. They are ready to roll with Alex for the time being even if some of you fans aren't.

What other choice did they have at the time?

Alex in Top Ten for win % as an active QB.

http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/gallery...-starts-051917

9 Alex Smith: 79-56 (.581)
Smith came into the NFL with huge expectations after being the first overall pick in the 2005 draft. He struggled mightily in San Francisco, but landing with the Chiefs was the best thing to happen to him. He’s gone 41-20 in Kansas City and is in position to go on one last run in 2017. He’ll need to increase his win total significantly in order to hold off rookie Patrick Mahomes.

A few other familiar names on that list.

1-3 says it all

How many games were won because of turnovers and field goals?

Exactly, same ones knocking us out of the playoffs year after year.

As you can tell by the last sentence- the writer of this article feels like if Alex wins- it will keep PM2 on the bench. This could have been written by Tiger. :shake:

Half maybe? :hmmm:

Check out that list- shit QB's with lots of wins because of their teams- Not their playing ability.

It is so funny to me that Alex fans use his winning percentage as a way to demonstrate how good he is, yet ignore his playoff winning percentage.

Winning is a team stat...which is why I have and will NEVER use winning percentage or record as a reason why ___(QB)___ is good or bad.

The Chiefs have selected their future, and Smith has no part in it.

Jesus ****ing Christ.

EVERYBODY wants him to ****ing sit! And NOBODY wants him out there before he's ready!

Tiger is insistent that he's two years away MINIMUM based on that quote by Reid talking about veterans taking 4 years to feel completely comfortable in the offense, and he believes Mahomes is a clueless shit-chucking reerun with the intelligence of Tyler Bray. All people are saying is that Mahomes is very likely to be ready by 2018. Nobody is saying they know exactly how long it will take Mahomes, only that Tiger is full of shit and making his 2-year prediction because he loves Alex.

That's it. It could be two years. It could be one year. However long it takes.

OK, taking you at your word. How come you, the reasonable fan, is all over anyone, anywhere, anytime, who has the temerity to even hope for anything but failure so long as Alex is on the roster, yet you're silent as a churchmouse as the NOBODYs you insist don't exist pray for anything from injury to family disaster to utter franchise failure to hasten the ascension of Mahomes, immediately if not sooner?

More of this shit?

Is this another idiot who thinks Smith will be here in 2018?

Of course Reid publicly backed Smith.
What do you think he's going to do?

Smith has come out himself and said he hasn't played up to the level expected of him, and THAT IS WHY they drafted Mahomes.

SMITH said that HIMSELF.

Smith FAILED and is being replaced. End of story.

You Idiots need to get this through your head...There is no debate here.
Just a bunch of dumbasses ignoring the obvious.

First, have to ask the question. Based on pre-draft opinions of Mahomes.. do you think there are quite a few draftniks, talking heads, etc. that thought of Mahomes as a multiple year project?

.. and if so, were they all delusional Smith lovers? or did they just genuinely think that as a pro QB, Mahomes needed A LOT of refinement?

Again, I think Mahomes starts in 2018... but people that act like this 2 yr development theory is wildly crazed Smith-love? Those people are probably basing their thinking through the lens of their Smith hate.
