I'm glad that Foles looked a gamer. Worst case scenario he maintains his profile for a desperate trade partner down the line and we rape the draft.

That said, I am hoping Alex bounces back and he was held out over an abundance of caution. He got trucked less violently than Cam did in week one, and I'm pretty sure he's played all season since.

I don't want Alex back fuzzy, and I don't want Foles in there on a leash or 'the backup plan.' We're in the meat of winnable games, and we'll need those in our pocket when the division tightens even more at the end of the season.

If Alex is clearheaded enough to play, go back to him no hesitation. If he needs time to clear cobwebs, put Foles in with full confidence [if temporary]

Can't wait for Foles to get First team reps with the starters all week. Offense could suddenly be explosive.

He's not the starter, regardless of how many here pine for it. It's a waste of time.

The rest of the league respects Alex more than the fanbase.

I hope he plays next week. I wanna see how he functions after a good smack to the head on a slide. Will he be okay? Will the chiefs throw him back out there knowing he is already scrambled and risk him again

.we will know alot how important Smith is to the team soon enough.

How do figure that? He's never even ranked the top half.

I just don't see how they can start Alex Smith after what looked like a double concussion today.

RealSNR 10-30-2016 06:06 PM

This is Alex's third concussion in his career, right?

If I were Alex, I'd really consider hanging 'em up after the season. One more and I'd be at risk of looking like Muhammed Ali as an old man.

No complaints anymore, everything is fixed.

But should we get excited even if it were....against the Jags?

Let's not start partying just yet. He faced the worst defense in the NFL.

This is all true

Not gonna lie though, his persistent style of downfield throwing was bonermeister

At the same time, I wont be throwing a fit when Smith inevitably goes back in... I'm capable of wanting what I want, and facing reality at the same time

I'm not sure. But you can add +2 to his total today.

Clearing NFL concussion protocol is like going through airport security. It's a joke.

There is not an opposing DC who is scared of Alex Smith.

chiefzilla1501 10-30-2016 06:08 PM

Alex Smith is the clear starter barring some monster performance from foles. Foles was effective but he still showed some warts.

But anyone who is OK with Alexs performance this season because of his stat line after watching today's game needs to get their head examined. What we saw today is we have exceptionally talented receivers who will get the ball if you give them opportunities to make plays. It's literally the one small element of Alexs game that would elevate him immediately. Hopefully Alex sits out one game as a precaution and Alex can see foles successfully take shots downfield.

Herm Edwards is respected around the league. Just saying.
