Just showed some amazing close ups off the catch on the SpaceX feed.

DaFace 10-13-2024 07:41 AM

I can't believe they actually had buoy cameras out there for the landing (and that it hit the mark).

I wonder how far off we are from reflying a booster. Obviously the Ship is going to take some work, but the Booster looks like it's close to ready for operations.

Nice views! Were those just from a phone camera?

Yessir. Just the ol' iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Donger 10-13-2024 07:57 AM

Sucker really came in at an angle. I was afraid it was going to hit the tower.

Do you get special permission to be that close?

Donger 10-13-2024 08:12 AM

Best view of the precision gimballing I've seen:

Yes. I was with my wife and her SpaceX colleagues on premises SpaceX owns (and have constructed employee river houses along the Rio Grande).

Although, there are also other spots right there accessible to the public for a ticket fee. For example:

Mission successful! When the adrenaline wears off at some point this morning, it will be nap time. And then party time back at Starbase this evening. It should be a rager for the history books after this show!
