You don't need to know shit about MMA to see that Condit was trying to make it to the bell. He was taking shot after shot and wobbling on his feet with hands down. I mean holy shit dude...

He was gassed... they both could barely stand at the end, dip shit.

alnorth 01-03-2016 12:36 AM

Condit saying all the right things at the press conference as if he had months of media training. Thought he won the fight, but it was close, he left it all in there, you never know with judges, etc.

Reading through most places seems like most felt Condit won. Love to see it again over Woodley or Rory. Hendricks is boring as shit so dont want to see that either.

Yup. Thats it. He was gassed. His face wasn't bloody or anything from the beating he was taking. He was just... tired.

Huge hosts from Lawler. Both men swinging. Condit’s face is a bloody mess. He’s dazed and in trouble. Fifty seconds left. Lawler looks up at the screen to check the time. Condit starts to swing back. Thirty seconds. Lawler tired now. He punches himself out and couldn’t finish. All heart from Condit. Big punches until the end for Lawler. My God. What a fight. MMAjunkie gives the round to Lawler, 10-9, but awards the fight to Condit, 48-47. Amazing.

Lawler rocks Condit again with moments left to go, but Condit hangs on to hear the final horn, ending a truly astonishing final round in which Lawler nearly erased all of Condit’s work from the prior 20 minutes.
"Dazed and in touble." Those ****ing reeruns don't know shit about MMA.

My instant instinct after round 3 was Lawler won the round, second-guessed myself after I saw the stats, now I don't know anymore who I felt really won the round (and the fight). I'm satisfied with the likely conclusion that a defending champion will always win a split decision, and a challenger can't let it get that close.

They apparently knew more about how hurt Condit was then he did. ****ing psychics.

At least they got the score right though.

I'm still 100% confident that I will always side with the power punches. Volume only means something if it hurts to me. Watching the round, Lawler was doing more damage to Condit than Condit was to Lawler.

It's like, would you rather take 10 BB's to the chest or one .45?

Not worth it dude, there's nothing you can point to and definitively declare that you are right. You're talking about something thats very subjective, and probably doesn't matter much.

BigCatDaddy 01-03-2016 12:46 AM

39 fights never been knocked out. Dude can take a shot the most can't.

It's not really subjective, lol. Anyone watching that fight could clearly see Condit was hurt, but he didn't admit it afterwards so I guess that means he wasn't hurt at all. It's the same for round 4 when Condit had Lawler wobbled at the end. If either of those rounds are just a little bit longer someone probably gets finished.

alnorth 01-03-2016 12:46 AM

Carlos Condit is talking like he is seriously thinking about retirement. He's only 31 though, and some fighters go through a "damn, enough of this" moment before they sleep on it a while.

Well yeah, it is subjective. I did think Condit was close at the end of the 5th round, but he insists he wasn't (biased obviously), and they were not hooked up to a live brain scan machine during the fight, so there's not a graph or data point you can point to. If he "looks like he was almost KO'd" to you or me, thats by definition subjective.
