Throw the self-absorbed druggie part out of the mix, talking purely decision making, and I see him as sort of a weaker-armed version of Mallett. Looks okay for a while and then he'll leave you scratching your head.

I know very little about this dude other than what draft pundits have been saying, but if he is physically a Matt Cassel clone, there could be worse things. IMO it's not Cassel's physical tools holding them back. It's his mental game. If Stanzi is physically like Cassel and has a little poise in the pocket, his ceiling could be significantly higher than Cassel.

I'm no fan of him, but it's hard for me to complain about.

I would have been intrigued by Kaepernik (sp) as a developmental QB. But he went too early for my taste.
