BryanBusby 10-24-2018 03:12 AM

If you have WWE stock I'd sell today. Losing their biggest merch mover is bad enough, losing the blood oil money will really hurt.

Going to take a lot to reset Raw since the whole show was a vehicle to put him over. Company is a real mess right now.

Sassy Squatch 10-25-2018 10:54 AM

Predictably, WWE is getting absolutely shat on for going ahead with the show. At least they were honest about why, I guess.

Mecca 10-25-2018 10:57 AM

We all knew they'd do it, it's just to much money.

Sassy Squatch 11-02-2018 01:04 PM

This show is an amazing trainwreck. It might have worse booking than Backlash did.

Jerm 11-02-2018 01:28 PM

Forget Okada, Tanahashi, Omega, Styles, Jericho, WALTER...

Shane McMahon...BEST IN THE WORLD.

Looks like another cursed Wrestlemania. First whatever they had for Roman Reigns and now Triple H-Batista is off the table and we're just getting into November.

I did that once. It's actually a relatively simple recovery if it was just the tendon ripping from the bone. WM is April 9th, so there's time to recover.

Say he has surgery to fix it today....that's about 4 to 6 weeks immobilized, then 12 weeks of rehab. I'd say the match is still doable.

Sassy Squatch 11-12-2018 07:56 PM

Kelce and Hill in the crowd tonight.

Sassy Squatch 11-12-2018 08:25 PM

LMAO Kelce looks like he's having the time of his life.

BryanBusby 11-12-2018 08:28 PM

I thought about going, than I remembered that Raw is awful and it's a **** off show.

Sassy Squatch 11-13-2018 07:30 PM

So Nia Jax broke Becky Lynchs face and she's out of Survivor Series, and we're more likely than not getting Bryan vs Lesnar. Bryan seems to be turning heel really soon.

Yarp. Only because there's supposed to be a legit surprise in the Royal Rumble apparently. (Not Omega)

This has been a good card thus far.

BryanBusby 01-27-2019 09:04 PM

Outside of Becky Lynch, this has been a pretty lackluster PPV so far.

Basically a testament to a company that refuses to make mega stars. Becky had to make it herself because they wanted to bury her so hard for Charlotte.

The rest? Meh. A roster full of talent and little to show for it.

DB is doing well but it feels the SD title is still marginalized for part timer Brock.

Sassy Squatch 01-27-2019 09:21 PM

The ****? Bryan, Rowan, and presumably Harper?

That is why I stopped watching WWE. The talent on the roster is probably the best it has ever been but they simply don't let the talent shine and feel out their own takes on their characters.

Where would the WWE be if they didn't let Austin be the pissed off angry redneck or Rock as the trash talking late 90s take on Mohammed Ali?

Kinda why they are brand over workers anymore. Don't want to get bent over a table anymore like the Rock, Austin and CM Punk did.

It's him until Reigns gets back. Think Strowman getting hurt ended any chance he had at winning the tilte, plus his awful at times promos and really poor wrestling.

Dream scenario is Velveteen enters, wins, and challenges DBry at Mania.....yeah that ain't happening so I'm sure it'll be generic guy #100 like Rollins or Drew.

I'm sure we're still getting the 3 way with Ronda/Becky/Charlotte at Mania....Charlotte will claim ****ery and get put in the match.

Meh. It's the Royal Rumble. If it's not predictable, your storytelling really sucks, barring a surprise return from injury.

TLO 01-27-2019 10:59 PM

The PPV was fine.

5 hours of the main show is not. The crowd was dead for the last 2 hours. It's simply too much time.

The Rumble is the best PPV to do swerves in. Having predictably is ok, but it has to be executed well. They missed the mark mostly tonight.

Jax taking a superkick, 619 and an RKO made my night

Jerm 01-27-2019 11:36 PM

I think I'm the only human on the planet that could care less about Becky and she does nothing for me....now I have to endure 4 months of her and dippy Ronda...yay.

I thought having her tap clean to Asuka in the middle and then come in 29 at the Rumble somehow and win was cringeworthy...I know everyone else loved it though.

BryanBusby 01-27-2019 11:39 PM

Becky's gimmick is nothing special. Comes down to more of she shoehorned her way into a scene they didn't want her to be in.

She's the protest to Vince's shit ass booking.

There were plenty of swerves tonight, but when it's all said and done your winners are going to be predictable.

Nah. It was expected the SD tag titles would change hands and none of the world titles would flip.

Rollins and Becky Lynch were heavy favorites leading in and they telegraphed the Rollins one by doing Roman ****ery with him.

The only real surprise was Shinske taking back a title nobody gives a **** about and the total mess of Nia Jax.

Sassy Squatch 01-28-2019 12:22 AM

I thought you meant in the Rumbles themselves. Yeah, the results were predictable as all hell, but its a Vince McMahon show. Depressing thought, but it's never going to change as long as he's around, no matter how much they want to bloviate about the "new era." I just know they better get their shit together ****ing quickly. New TV deals start in October, and it'd be a pretty bad look to get relegated to FS1 because of shit ratings so early into the deal.

BryanBusby 01-28-2019 12:24 AM

Really wasn't a lot of shockers in entrees either, at least for the men. I was more surprised EC3 was nowhere to be found.

Figured it'd be a lot of nxt people since Takeover was last night. Feels like they had bigger plans for a shocker at 30 and it blew up on them.

I much prefer seeing the younger stars from NXT over nostalgia acts that can barely move. Anyone from the past or potential surprises that have the slightest bit of talent left is getting signed by other companies so that doesn't help either. We're most likely stuck with NXT one nighters and returns from injuries for the next few years.

BryanBusby 01-28-2019 12:31 AM

I don't think so. I'm expecting more of them down the road as they will be more aggressive signing wrestlers away from AEW and wil have to likely concede more Day 1 main roster signings.

They better be more worried about their own guys wanting to go to AEW. Jericho said they gave him the richest deal of his career, and Vince McMahon wouldn't match it. The Khan family snd AEW actually have enough wealth to compete with WWE for talent., unlike TNA or ROH.

Good luck with that, Jericho is a 50 year old part timer, would you pay him a shit ton of money?

It's really easy for AEW to spew that stuff about paying just as much money when they aren't even running yet. We'll see how long it takes of them taking major losses of money every quarter before the money marks had enough.

Not to mention WWE has already made comments to talent that raises are coming when they move to Fox.

Sassy Squatch 01-28-2019 07:45 AM

LMAO You might have a point if most of the biggest stars nowadays for the WWE weren't ancient part timers as well.

Seriously, who was the last superstar they made that actually sustained it? ****ing Cena? Guys like Reigns, Rollins, Strowman, Styles, and Bryan were either failures from the get go or sputtered out.

The closest they've got right now is Becky Lynch, and they had to be drug on their hands and feet kicking and screaming to get it this far.

Like I said earlier, they'd better get their shit straightened out before they move to FOX or they'll be dead on arrival.

Jericho is a 50 year old part-timer that is still capable of putting on 5-star matches, like he did at Wrestle Kingdom with Naito. AEW's roster so far is pretty damn good and if they can get an agreement worked out with Omega and/or Ibushi then it gets even better. One good thing for WWE fans is that The Revival may finally get a good push because if they don't, they are damn sure leaving for AEW once their contracts are up.

Swanman 01-28-2019 09:20 AM

Predictably, NXT Takeover was about 10,000 times better than the Royal Rumble. The tag title match was amazing and Gargano v Ricochet and Ciammpa v Black were off the charts.

Given what happened right after the show, they may be looking to do Elimination Chamber at WM Takeover with Cole, Velveteen Dream, Black, Ricochet, Gargano and Ciammpa.
