People are just excited and being optimistic....pretending & acting like Foles absolutely has no chance of doing what Smith has done in the last 4 years is dishonest. Just take a look at smith's 7 years with the niners.... he was a .500 QB below 60% complete .

Foles at year 5 is ahead of where Alex was year 8 by most measurable stats...including win loss ratio. Acting like it's insane he could improve is just dishonest.....
lots of people have essentially called Alex Smith garbage if not just done it outright.

A certain group of people have turned every thread they could into an "Alex Smith sucks" thread.

No it isn't. Saying he is a game manager is not saying he is garbage.....saying his numbers rank him as a middling or even bottom half QB isn't saying he is garbage....no one serious is saying that.

It's ok to want better...it doesn't mean you think a player is garbage to hope for more out of a position.
