Let's see if he can still function after that.

You think the very-non-mobile Foles would be better against that defense?

Got ya. I'm actually quite happy that I don't have a facebook, despite being of the age that I should.

Hey I'm all for Smith playing. I don't honestly care either way. I'm just interested in when he gets hit in the head again how will he respond. Does he go all Aikman and Green and walk away or does he continue to terrorize defenses 4 yards at a time?

Sure.

Alex Smith last year vs Denver:

197 ypg 1 td 2 int qb rating 69.5

Foles is going to make the oline better by staying in the pockets they create to make throws where Smith takes off too early. However, you make a good point that when the pocket does have a legit breakdown, Smith would be better. Although Alex was barely running this year. Makes the injury today even more ironic.

Foles looks good, and thank goodness we have him.

Let's not start partying just yet. He faced the worst defense in the NFL.

Cause it's not actually '3rd place' unless all teams have played an equal amount of games.

3rd place at present is fair because the Raiders and Donkeys actually have one more win with the same amount of losses. More wins, same losses, higher win percentage overall.

An extra game would decide things more definitively, but as it stands they've done more positive than us [more opportunity, for better or worse].

I think he could. He just needs to get rid of the ball quick. I think slants with our quick receivers like #10 would help with that

In all fairness, Chip Kelly is an idiot.

Foles appears comfortable in the pocket and I like the way he stretches the field. His accuracy and touch on shorter stuff needs work.

I get that you want your starter on the field but in hindsight it looks like a bad choice to put Smith back out there. Clearly still a lot to work out with concussions.

Yes. It's not a slight on the Chiefs. It's like in baseball when a team has 4 more games played due to rainouts ect.

Which point are we discussing? Whether KC is literally in 3rd place or whether they are sitting in a great spot. If it's the latter, I agree. Still doesn't change my point, which wasn't meant to be a big deal, that KC is not atop the division.

We'll find out soon enough.

It will be really nice to watch the next game when all our receivers catch 10 balls for 200 yards since Alex Smith was the ONLY thing holding the team back.

No complaints anymore, everything is fixed.

Exactly.

He's not the starter, regardless of how many here pine for it. It's a waste of time.

The rest of the league respects Alex more than the fanbase.
