There's some intriguing LA talent at AA (Cuthbert, Calixte, Bonifacio) but none of them are really forcing the issue at this point. Everything else is at A+ or lower. It seems that Moore is trying to bunch "waves" of prospects about 4-5 years apart. If one of those waves doesn't produce, you're left trying to patch things in between, because you have little of value in between the waves. |
Blake Wood apparently still smells of Georgia, and this is why DM wanted him back.
Waves of talent to DM are ripples on a pond to every other competent GM. |

Shields Vargas Guthrie Ventura Chen Duffy Zimmer Dwyer Lamb Brooks Ventura and Chen and Zimmer all getting hurt/delayed moves a guy like Brooks up the chart quite a bit, as does the basically complete suckage of John "I'm the one in 100 that doesn't make it back" Lamb and Chris Dwyer. |
Glad we never tried to move any of those pitching prospects. First chance we get that Zimmer shows he's healthy, please trade him.
Immediately. |

Brooks was top 10 in ERA in the PCL and was 4-1. Everything looked okay what he was doing in Triple A. Emergency starter you normally call somebody up and that is what he did. Just got his shit pushed in. Sucks but that is baseball. Hell even if Zimmer was healthy I don't think they would have burned one start and service time for an emergency start.

I watched Ororizzi pitch the other night vs Boston. He looked pretty good. He'd be a good #4 guy in our rotation right about now. Too bad we had to give him up.

His next start, also vs Boston, on May 31 he looked like he has the rest of the year. 3.1 IP 6H 5 ER pushing his ERA for the season up to a cool 5.13. |
