Forgive me if it was already posted but Nick Wright had a fantastic rant on his podcast yesterday re: the best QB in the league debate that has surfaced again. Worth your time if you find it on YT, podcast channel, etc. (Can't link right now myself).
What I love about it is when people keep going back to this well of doubting Mahomes and the Chiefs, I think it only does us favors. You'd think haters would have learned from the Patriots years, doubting a team like that is the worst thing you can do. Pissing them off is not going to help your chances of defeating them (thanks, Justin Tucker). But getting back to the main point, it's exhausting the lengths people will go to in order to discredit what Mahomes has done. People are so desperate for something fresh and new that it makes them reeruned in their analysis of the current landscape, the Chiefs in particular. |

Don’t really see the problem with saying Josh Allen is a great QB though. Every generation of QB’s has those guys. He’s probably going to be Peyton Manning while Mahomes is the Tom Brady of this generation. He’ll probably win 1 ring eventually but I’d project that Mahomes will win at least 2 more making 5 total |

But there should be a clear delineation between Allen being the 2024 season MVP and Allen being the best in the world, period. From a Bills fan, fine. They're loyal to their guy and it'll always be that way. And the vitriol is heightened as KC also is the reason they haven't made a SB. If you claim to be an independent NFL analyst? Just stop. He's not there yet and won't be anytime soon. The best game of his career is a playoff loss to Mahomes! |
Allen is really good. He's up there with Mahomes physically, just doesn't have the accolades.
Until he wins some big games, he's below him. Manning was better than Brady, but that's a whole other discussion. |

Then you have Mahomes whose playoff stats and record is that of a unanimous NFL MVP. In the biggest games and against the best opponents. It's not talked about enough because people are already tired of him. |

This is more of a discussion of QB’s after Mahomes. This year has solidified Allen as QB2 and it’s not close. None of us would take Burrow or Lamar or Stroud or anyone over him if Mahomes wasn’t an option.
And he may be the most talented QB ever due to his legs. He’s certainly up there. If he ends up being Dan Marino/Charles Barkley then that’s still a HOF player and one of the best, most talented QB’s ever. I think people place team success on QB’s too much. We all know the Brady morons do this for SB55 when it was clearly not Mahomes fault. Allen will win MVP this year and he deserves it. But he’s gotta beat Mahomes at some point if he wants to ever win a ring. |

The defense carried Brady his first 3 rings. They literally won him a SB over Seattle at the end of the game, they only allowed 21 points to the MVP QB and shut the Falcons out entirely in the 2nd half and his TB defense applied the best pressure rate on a QB in SB history. The guy rarely had to do much offensively while Manning consistently had to put up tons of points to even have a chance. |

He’s one of the top 4/5 players in the league. He’s just not Mahomes. |
ESPN is predicting Baltimore to beat KC in Playoffs and Buffalo to win the Super Bowl. Gonna be hilarious if they are wrong.
