In their biggest game they deliberately wanted to take the ball out of Allen’s hands and run the ball more. |

Was listening to Nick Wright's podcast as I was getting ready this AM and mentioned something worth considering.
What is Josh Allen's biggest or signature game? His defense carried him to his only AFC Championship game and he was erratic in that game, not very good. Was it the loss to the Chiefs (13 seconds game) where the Chiefs lost their main safety and had backup corners falling down over over?! |
The 13 seconds game was Josh Allen’s best game and it’s not his fault they lost. He was genuinely awesome.
Blaming him would be like blaming Mahomes for losing to Brady in the 2018 AFCCG |
Josh was incredible in the :13 game. Haven't watched all of his games, or probably even most of them, so maybe I missed his best game, but the :13 game was spectacular.

And because of that, I think you do have to rule on the bottom line and say that's not his immortal game. I'd say it's actually the Patriots win from that same year in the playoffs, and the Patriots didn't put up a fight at all. I give Josh credit for taking the Bills struggles against the Pats from the past 20 years and completely blowing it out of the water, but a perfect game in the wildcard round where you barely have to think about besting your opponent in a shootout isn't anything groundbreaking. |
And here's the thing.
"It's not his fault he lost" It never is, man. And that's why I can't give a shit about Josh Allen no matter how spectacular he looks. We do this stupid shit every year. Bills warm the hearts and vaginas of every casual NFL fan and become the popular SB pick by season's end, Josh looks great in the playoff game, and the Bills lose. It's not Josh's fault, and that fact is made known by EVERYBODY in the media. It's shouted out loudly and frequently. Some might even say it's shoved down our throats. "Not Allen's fault! Not Allen's fault!" Enough with the crocodile tears. I don't care. I never did care, and I ESPECIALLY don't care now that he's getting older as a player. Let me know when Josh gets an actual signature win and slays an actual dragon. I figure he'll do it eventually, but thus far for being so goddamn great I haven't seen it yet. Sorry, but dramatic impressive losses in the playoffs don't do it for me. He's way closer to Justin Herbert than he is Patrick Mahomes |
Bills fans always assume if they, someday, get back to a SB...they will automatically win it. Like getting past Mahomes is their only obstacle.
Wouldn't losing 5 SB's be a record? Careful what you wish for.... |

...he can convert 3rd downs though? |
