Might as well with the way your team drafts. Heck there are many in your fan base who want to tank for Harrison Jr or Bowers. I mean why not? At the rate they let Burrow get destroyed every game you might as well load Browning up with as many receivers as possible.

Yeahhhh. If they draft another skill player (regardless of position), i will drive over to the stadium and kick them all in the nuts personally. And **** tanking. Win some damn games.

Orlando about to give up three sacks LMAO look at this bullshit

Orlando Brown Jr., son of 'Zeus,' was built for the storm

Quote:

Quarterback Joe Burrow has been lost for the season due to a torn ligament in his right wrist. Nobody expects anything out of a 5-5 team currently in last place. The Bengals have officially been erased from the national consciousness because Burrow is the one who revitalized the entire organization.

Burrow earned every penny of the richest contract in NFL history. Burrow is the primary reason Orlando Brown Jr. even chose Cincinnati in free agency. This behemoth signed here to serve as the missing piece, as the protector of Joey Franchise. He’s well aware that the Bengals were one block away from winning the Super Bowl in 2021, then one block from reaching another in 2022.

He delivered a Super Bowl title to the Kansas City Chiefs and chose Cincinnati to do it again, to inch closer to fulfilling that promise to his Dad.

The timing of his arrival may now seem completely off.

It’s not.

He’s exactly what the Bengals need.
Quote:

The human mind only grows through struggle. We innately need resistance. Back to begging his father to play, Orlando Brown Jr. is living proof. And chatting the Friday before Cincinnati’s 24-18 win over Buffalo, the left tackle says he’s been studying who Leonard Floyd is off the field as much as who the Bills edge rusher is on it.

He takes a “militant” approach to his job because, he adds with bite, that’s the key “to breaking a man’s will.”

Now, the will of the entire Cincinnati Bengals team should effectively shatter. It won’t. When they face the Pittsburgh Steelers at Paycor Stadium this Sunday, veer your attention to No. 75 beforehand. You’ll see him put an arm — stretch marks ‘n all — over a teammate’s shoulder. He’ll be in their ear. He may even speak up at halftime like he did in Baltimore’s playoff win over Tennessee three years ago.

Back then, Brown told everyone to look around the locker room, to realize this is a team full of players who’ve dug themselves out of a hole in their lives. The Ravens won, 20-13, with Brown earning eternal validation from the calloused Calais Campbell. “Young buck,” Brown recalls Campbell saying in his baritone voice, “you’re going to be something special!”

Bengals players can toil in their proverbial lockers for six hours straight.

Or they can fight. Or they can look within exactly as Brown did. It’s true that Burrow is a generational quarterback, but it’s also true that this Bengals team is strong at its core. Last postseason, Go Long spent time with that swaggering pack. The Bengals are full of angry “villains” who’ll find slights, use slights and dance atop an opponent’s grave when the deed is done. Now, this dismissed team has every reason to grow a very real chip on the shoulder.

Maybe these Bengals can work their way back to Arrowhead for a third straight playoff game. That’d be fun.

Granted, Brown hoped to be a Chief forever. He was comfortable in KC. He imagined his son growing up with Patrick Mahomes’ kids. But he says their contract offer was not fair, citing the outs and lack of guaranteed money. He believed the Chiefs were trying to take advantage of him, and the fact that he sincerely wanted to stick around.

There were also aspects of the culture he frankly did not enjoy.

“It’s an organization that’s old school,” Brown says. “You’re going to have to play through injury. You’re going to practice through injury. It is old school and it’s not for everybody. And I would’ve still had a ton of success there if I was still there. It’s crazy how God works.”

Asked for more detail on this “old school” world and Brown points to the Chiefs’ strenuous practices — they go hard every day — and the fact that it’s not very “rah-rah.”

“Every game is the Super Bowl,” he says. “It’s different, but that’s what makes it special.”

Upon signing, he realized the Bengals, unlike the Chiefs, were adamant on taking care of players’ bodies.

PHOG 11-24-2023 11:33 AM

I'm so glad he personally delivered our SB victory.

Orlando simultaneously lionizes old school players like Ray Lewis and Ed Reed and talks about his love of the history of pro football and then turns around and complains about practicing hard.

RealSNR 11-24-2023 12:24 PM

The Chiefs have been pretty damn good at avoiding key injuries to key players for just about the entirety of Reid's tenure, save for 2014 as well as the unfortunate AFCC before the Tampa SB. That's just about 10 years of prime injury luck. Meanwhile, the Ravens, Chargers, Steelers, 49ers, and all these other great talented forward-thinking "modern" NFL franchises are constantly coming up short because their planned offseason starters just aren't there to play the important games for them.

It's pretty clear at this point. One year is luck. Two years is an anomaly. Ten years? That's a trend. The Chiefs and their "old school" approach makes them an overall healthier team than most other franchises throughout the season and going into the playoffs. The data doesn't lie.

Buffalo as well. Constant injuries on defense in particular.

notorious 11-24-2023 01:46 PM

We've lost Mahomes and several other guys in big games. Some of those injuries led to losses.

The depth and their competency is why we win. Other teams don't have the depth.

The one major time injuries killed us was before the TB superbowl. I would consider that horrible luck like the teams some of you have listed.

OBj had only given up 14 total pressures in the first 6 games. He's given up 26 since going out of the Seattle game with a groin injury.

Donovan Smith has been ass in 4 games as well but his have been sprinkled out from game #1 thru now and he's not dealing with any dings. He just sucks and gets bailed out by PMII.

For a subpar RT would you rather pay Wylie 3 years/24 mil or Taylor 4 years/80 mil?

For as much as people give Veach a hard time for the WR situation, he hasn’t done much better at OT.

Imagine having a season where everything lines up to finally win a title and you shit down your leg in back to back seasons

Mahomes and Allen severely injured in the playoffs and you beat only one? A struggling Chiefs offense, Bills taking a step back, and your other competitors are Tua Turnadaballova and a RB masquerading as QB and your pathetic O line gets Bridesmaid injured?

Ouch...

Imagine you ever offered a legitimate, intelligent sports take instead of spending your life chirping at people online with insults that a 12y/o laughs at and says 'i remember my first beer'.

Watching highlights and seeing Bates have a pick 6 and forced fumble for Atlanta makes me smile. Bengals definitely made a mistake letting him walk.

Irrelevant team is irrelevant.

Dax Hill has been more versatile and better in a lot of areas.

So you prefer Hill over Bates?

Who cares. Season is toast and now they will have to replace 2 wr's that will be walking after they overpay Chase at 40 mil per year.

Tackling has been less than desirable.

Hmmm.

Bates was good here every other year. I'll be interested to see how he does next year.

That said...i wouldn't turn either of them down, honestly.

If Higgins and Boyd are gone, i'm ok with it. Iosivas is a very talented rookie who will only get better. Trenton Irwin is underrated and a very solid WR and they drafted Charlie Jones in the 4th this year. He could be a very good slot in the coming years. I'm not even slightly worried about the WRs. Sign Ja'Marr and the rest are already in place.
