sully1983 03-22-2018 11:25 AM

watched The Killing of a Sacred Deer last night. jfc what a creepy indie film that was . horrifying at times and very interesting . That kid from Dunkirk was in this and was sensational (scary good). Also, Colin Farrell doesn't get the respect he deserves. GREAT versatile actor imo.

mikeyis4dcats. 03-22-2018 02:27 PM

Hurricane Heist. Just No. Had to kill some time and it was the only thing playing, and I stil wish I'd have just sat in the truck.

Baby Lee 03-23-2018 09:49 AM

Could be great, could be crap, but gotta admit that Knoxville adapting the legend of Action Park NJ is a sound concept.

Tomb Raider was completely ridiculous but enjoyable.

Then again, I am a sucker for the pseudo archaeologist adventurer type shit. Love me some Uncharted, National Treasure, Indiana Jones, etc.

Anyone else hyped for A Quiet Place...? Comes out next week.

I for one cannot wait for this...so intrigued by it.

Love movies and ideas like this that take something we've seen over and over (mysterious creatures taking over) and throwing a unique spin on it.

A little dispiriting to have a movie that comes complete with a constant reminder that Emily Blunt is already married. ;)

As for actual anticipation, all my energy is still focused on Hereditary.

I have a love/hate relationship with horror movies. I have little tolerance for movies that merely startle me, or try to scare me with the improbable or fantastical.

But I'm always on the lookout for movies that can instill a real lasting sense of dread.

That's why I've watched The Exorcist dozens of times, but barely paid anything like Freddy Kreuger or Jason any mind at all.

One of those was The Witch, which although it could be plodding in parts really built a world of isolation where it injected just enough of the supernatural to make you shudder. And this comes from the same interests.

Simply Red 03-30-2018 04:57 PM

Gosh I hope it's okay to post this - because it's pretty old now - but I just NOW saw 'Drive' and I absolutely loved it!

ToxSocks 04-02-2018 11:02 AM

Saw Pacific Rim 2 this weekend.

OH YEAH! SO AWESOME! GIANT ASS KICKING ROBOTS.

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Tons of action, fantastic CGI and the acting and story are good enough to not get in the way of giant CGI robots vs Monsters.

Atomic Blonde was legit. If John Wick had never been made it would have been amazeballs.

As such, its a spy flick version of female John Wick. Still good though. And Charlize Theron does it for me.

Going to see this tomorrow. The real horror for me is that I'm extremely sensitive to the sounds of other people eating. I've heard the movie is very quiet obviously, so someone working over some Milk Duds/Jujubes in my vicinity could send me over the edge.

The movie looks great though.

I’m going to wait for the early bird/matinee on a weekday just to avoid any of that BS.

I haven’t been this excited for a horror flick in years.

ThaVirus 04-07-2018 06:12 PM

I went to see that new Tomb Raider like a week ago and this ****ing douche and his girlfriend were literally taking selfies/texting on their phone for the first 20 minutes of the movie.

Luckily I didn’t give a shit about that movie but what a ****ing couple of assholes. If that happens during A Quiet Place I will fight a bitch.

What did you think of it?

I spent the rest of the day, night, and this morning more aware of all the things that create a sound in day to day living. That's pretty impactful for me. It was an ultra high definition, surround anti-sound experience.

Bowser 04-09-2018 05:38 PM

Saw Red Sparrow on a whim today. I enjoyed the hell out of it. Slow burn of a movie, but it played perfectly. Jennifer Lawrence is hot as balls in this movie, and is not shy about showing it off. Do recommend.

I liked it okay. Wasn't as excited about it as most - but good. Theater would have probably did it more justice, I'm sure.

Great movie. Loved the silence gimmick. It truly worked.

So, in my showing, we had these two ladies come in 30 minutes into the movie with high heels clicking. Totally disturbed the moment. Then they got up 2 minutes after getting seated to go get snacks and come back. Unbelievable some people. 90 minute movie so they missed a 1/3 of it.
