5 elite skill guys when you include their fullback. McCaff & Deebo are both like 2-for-1 players with a lot of versatility. Both guys can be a really good RB or really good receiver. It’s a pretty impressive collection of talent.

Like the Ravens? Or maybe like the Bills.

I get that Detroit kept getting in their own way in the second half, but how much did SF change on defense between the first and second half? Those videos look like they were both early in the game.

Sure, I believe we'll beat SF. Purdy's never faced Spags' defense, iirc. It's going to be a shock, imo. The question is, how much of a shock, and can he settle down and still execute the offense. Something I would tend to doubt in his first matchup with Spags.

I never said or even thought that Purdy was going to play like Montana 2.0 and beat the Chiefs. I'm just pointing out that Purdy has shown more ability than most expected and that he's a real top-10 QB, which is a surprise this early in his career.

2 of SF's defensive stops in the second half involved Josh Reynolds dropping passes where no one was within 5 yards of him.

I get that, but did SF make any significant adjustments between the first and second half? Or were they playing the same style of defense both halves? I would think they made significant adjustments as what they were doing in the first half was clearly not working.

Yeah, the Lions really had SF dead to rights if they could just execute properly and not drop the ball.

I'm just going to come out and say it. **** Brock Purdy. **** Kyle Shannahan and **** the 49ers. I'm pulling for the Chiefs in this one. Vegas be damned!

Lions' second half drives:

47 yards - DOWNS
-1 yards - FUMBLE
1 yard - PUNT
45 yards - DOWNS
75 - TOUCHDOWN

San Francisco adjusted for sure but what a damn nightmare of a third quarter

Lions choked pretty bad in terms of catching the football. They were open, Goff was making solid throws, and the Detroit guys kept dropping it. Their defense also had the blown play when Purdy underthrew the deep ball. Should have been an interception, but bounced off the Lions guy and Aiyuk made a great catch to setup an easy TD from the 5 yard line.

And on top of all those drop ball mistakes by Detroit, the coach screwed up with the 4th down calls. Cost them 6 points right there.

They had 5 drives the 2nd half. 3 of those easily got into FG range, 1 was a bad fumble on the first snap that ended up a turnover and the other drive was a horrible dropped pass to a wide open WR that I've got in the pic below.

They were driving down the field on them every drive. Only reason they ended drives were self inflicted errors.
