Not at all. I work for a "high end" factory under a big corporation so I'm guessing their regulations are damn strict. Make a ton of car parts for pretty much every major company. Chrysler, Ford, and GM, to name a few. Only thing that remotely smells is when they purge a couple of machines out and we have giant exhaust fans near the ceiling to take care of that.

Oh I remember now it was a fiberglass shop. They got sharbs of fiberglass all over had to wear a mask inside. It did not look like any health inspectors have ever been around and really looked like a shitty business run operation like in the movies. I never liked going there.
Sounds like you just got a blue color type grinding parts for a living job. That is solid work nothing wrong with it just wouldn't be exiting each day & would get monotonous.
