I'm not crushed. Really. I'm not. (I'm lying through my teeth).

That was fantastic D by Butler. They earned it.

Time to take off those purple converse sneaks, William.

Heck of a season I tell you what. No complaints from this guy.

DaWolf 03-27-2010 04:54 PM

Props on a good season...

teedubya 03-27-2010 04:56 PM

IMO, the teams with the LOWEST seed, should get to play in the first time slot, so that they can rest longer. KSU should have played earlier in the night on Thursday... it would have given them an extra 3-4 hours of rest. Not saying it matters, but being the FIRST game tonight wasn't really fair.

Anyone with access/opportunity/ability/etc to get to the airport/rally, I beg you to go and cheer them home. No way I can, but implore those that can, to.

They may challenge for the Big XII title. And I think Mizzou will be better too.

Gonna be another fun season for fans of the local teams.

58kcfan89 03-27-2010 05:02 PM

Damn.

Damn damn damn. fucking Butler. Just couldn't hit anything and Butler's a damn good team, we made too many mistakes & Butler capitalized on it. They basically did the same thing to us that they did to Syracuse, slowed the game down, hit key shots and played great defense.

Dammit. When's football season start?

WilliamTheIrish 03-27-2010 05:02 PM

Butler earned it. You can't take anything away from them. I can't really be unhappy. Never thought the Cats would win 29 6&;1-.

Man barring any stupid off-season crap happening...next year looks pretty bright for both football and basketball. Came a long way from the mess Prince and Weefer put K-State through.

I sincerely believe that next year is the end of KU's 6 year streak at the top of the Big 12... we will be good enough to get a 5-8 seed in the NCAA tourney...

KSU, could be a top ten team again... and Mizzou is easy a top 25 team.

Agreed. Hats off to Butler. Many thanks to the Cats. Excited for next year. Who knows, might even pick up enough fans to be capable of starting some game-only discussion threads.

I would be very surprised if KU isn't a top 10 team with their returning talent and likely Josh Selby at PG. KSU could be ranked in the top 5 to start the year.

KevB 03-27-2010 05:30 PM

I took a bit of time to cool off, but it's not easy. 2 things quickly.....how in the world did Kelly only get one post up the entire second half. That's is inexplicable. Second, I can't remember a player shrinking from the moment more than JS tonight. I think he committed that last foul to get out of the game. I've spoken to a couple of people that felt the same way. He really needs to get his stuff squared away mentally if he wants to be a big contributor next season again.

That said, amazing season, amazing ride, and I couldn't be more happy about what's Frank's done for the program. Credit to Butler...they did the same thing to us that they did to Syracuse, and that's not an accident. The game was a carbon copy to the Cuse game. I'll be pulling for them in Indy.

Dante84 03-27-2010 06:16 PM

Hell, if someone would have told me they were going to be playing at the Elite 8, I would be asking where they bought their drugs at.

After 6 holes of "golf"(swinging drunkenly at at white ball), again, thanks for the great season Cats. Found myself clapping more than crying. Again, congrats Butler on the well earned birth to the FF.

58kcfan89 03-27-2010 10:45 PM

Just got back from MHK to see the team get back.... Most of the players were happy to see the fans, but Frank looked like he hadn't slept in a week.

I'm disappointed they couldn't get one more win, but I'm damn proud to be a Wildcat today. Go win that title next year, boys!

On a side note: If Huggins wins a title, does that break the "K-State curse" that we can't be good at anything?

That's very touching, especially after a soul crushing loss like that. I'm sure thats one moment those players and coaches will remember their whole lives.

Great fans. Much respect. I was in Aggieville yesterday with my wife and her friends to watch the game. As a Mizzou fan, I know crushing disappointment as well as anyone. I was very impressed with how they carried themselves after the game was over. Everybody just said "Very disappointed, but we had a great year." and everyone was calm and orderly. No riots, no drunken hooligans, just class. That video of the team coming home is what college sports is supposed to be all about. Mad props to K-State today. Here's one Mizzou Tiger who salutes the team and the fans in Manhattan.

Apparently we are recruiting Ray Shipman out of Florida...again.

So far the transfer route has worked well for us with Clemente and Kelly. Look at both of their stats before K-State and what Frank was able to do with them - pretty good track record thus far.

Don't like it. We already have a Wing that can't shoot (Sutton). Do we really need another clone of that?

FYI - Take a good look at Shipman. His face totally reminds me of Bill Walker (I wish he had Billy's game)

We have 2 open scholarships right now, don't we? Get a guy who can go in there and wreck some shit. Who cares about the rest if the other option is an empty spot on the bench?

Doesn't surprise me. Frank's got plenty of time to get the award and lots more. That said, I hope the team finds any slight like this to use as motivation. Use the "chip on the shoulder" mentality as much as possible.

Coach 04-14-2010 04:23 AM

Well, guess who is on K-State's injury chart.....

Quote:

MANHATTAN, Kansas -- Notoriously stingy with his team's injury information, Kansas State coach Bill Snyder had no plans to disclose the latest injury to befall the Kansas State program.

But after admitting defeat to the Internet rumor mill, Snyder discussed an incident in an earlier spring practice that resulted in a torn ACL and MCL for the 70-year-old coach.

"I don’t know if you’ve ever had 600 pounds fall on your knee or not, but that’s what I did," Snyder said.

Prizzell Brown, a 265-pound defensive tackle and Ethan Douglas, a 295-pound offensive lineman, wrestled each other into their coach, said quarterback Carson Coffman.

"The youngster that ran into me certainly didn’t do it on purpose, and I feel bad because they feel bad," Snyder said.

Snyder said the injury didn't hurt at the time, and he got up after the collision, continuing with practice. After a more thorough examination, Snyder is contemplating surgery.

"Doctor jerked my leg around and said your golf game is over unless you have surgery," Snyder said. "But the last time I played golf was an awful long time ago."

Snyder mostly laughed off the injury, but did say it's provided him with a perspective he's lacked for the first two decades with the Wildcats.

"Unless you’ve ever experienced it, you don’t quite understand," Snyder said. "I never really understood, as hard as I tried to study it, exactly the kind of impact it can have on a young guy."

Coffman added that his coach isn't doing any rehab alongside the team in the training room. Even Monday, Coffman was unaware of the severity of the injury, and Snyder deflected an earlier question during his news conference about the incident.

"We’re going to do away with the Internet," Snyder said, admitting defeat, if only this time, to the information superhighway.
