It appears that the initial reports that it was a conditional 3rd were wrong. It's actually one of the comp picks we got for Poles. So it's a pick after the unofficial end of round 3.

Yeah, I think I'll take cheap and highly talented WRs while Mahomes is in his prime for 3rd round picks. No brainer even given the baggage.

I guess an upside is that if he doesn’t get his shit together we can just overpay hardman next year. But as others have pointed out the upside is pretty huge for a role that can certainly help.
