We’re one Lamar injury away from being the favorite in the AFC.

We were killing Baltimore 30-13 with 13 minutes left in the game before we went into that soft prevent crap.

They were hot coming in and we shut them down and ran them off the field.

And no Tyreek

KC wont get a first round bye this year. But if they can stay healthy and play like they did today, they won't need one.

If you don't believe this, get off the Mahomes train right now.

You're not a fan.

There's still a lot of possibilities in play.

This is going to be a fun month of football.

What needs to happen for us to get a bye:

We win out against

@NE
Denver
@Chicago
Chargers

Very doable, maybe even probable.

NE loses a game against

Cincy - nope
Buffalo - Buffalo has a great chance to win this one
Miami - Miami has consistently upset them numerous times over the years.

For us to get the #1 seed, those things need to happen AND

Baltimore needs to lose 2 of these games:

@Bills #2 total defense..13th against the run
Jets #6 total defense...#1 run defense
@Browns #15 total defense...24th against the run
Steelers #5 total defense....11 run defense...this game will be very hard fought division battle.

It’s certainly not a gimme that they don’t drop 2 of those.

Yeah I don't know about that Bills line. Patriots loss tonight was not a common game with Buffalo, doesn't hurt NE in the tiebreaker with them.

If you're going to get crazy here, you also have to include Houston losing a game and Buffalo losing, maybe twice. Chiefs are technically 5th in the conference as it stands now. We need to worry about beating the Patriots. We lose that game next week and it'll probably be hard to climb out of the 4 seed.

Agreed...but we’re not gonna lose another game.

It’s gonna suck if we miss the #1 seed by 1 game after giving away that Titans game...but this team is getting hot at the right time.

If Frank Clark’s injury isn’t serious, that could definitely change my outlook.

RunKC 12-01-2019 11:46 PM

1. #Ravens (10-2) at BUF, NYJ, at CLE, PIT

1. #Patriots (10-2) vs KC, at CIN, vs BUF, MIA

3. #Texans (8-4) vs DEN, at TEN, at TB, TEN

4. #Chiefs (8-4) at NE, vs DEN, at CHI, LA

The odds of us getting a bye is less than 10% IMO. If we lose next week I think the odds of us getting the 3 seed are less than 10%.

jerryaldini 12-01-2019 11:56 PM

According to Rany J IF we win out odds of a bye stand at 59%. I watched that Bills Pats game. I see the Bills getting revenge in that one.

That doesn't mean shit to us, as long as the Pats lose, that's all that matters. Bills don't have to win the division, just have to beat the Pats.

If we lose next week we can't pass the Patriots. If the Texans won we'd essentially be 2 behind them with 3 to play.

Well theoretically if the Bills won out and we beat the Patriots, the Bills would get the bye and not us.

mr. tegu 12-02-2019 12:05 AM

It seems like the bottom line is that if we win out and NE (in addition to ours), Buffalo, and Houston each lose one more game then we will have a bye. The one seed also remains in play but requires all of the above plus two Baltimore losses.

gold_and_red 12-02-2019 12:08 AM

This team is very competitive on the road. It has a decent shot of winning at NE/Bal/Buf in the playoffs. I am more worried about that home game on wildcard weekend.
But first order of things is to go 12-4 and let the chips fall where they may.
