What I like about that last pick is that he actually has a legit shot at becoming relevant.

ROFL

I'd love for someone to explain to me why it was smart to take a bunch of defenders in a weak defensive year and then avoid the OL in a strong OL year aside from taking one total bum.

Yeah, but you could say that about any of these guys. How many teams are going to be lining up to take some 4th string player? I think it's irrelevant at this point, no pun intended. I don't know, I guess I think you have a better shot at getting something out of a kicker than a backup TE when you're in the 7th round.

The last three years a shitload of us wanted Siler, Woodyard, and now Ellerbe or Beckwith.

Instead we got three TEs and a kicker.

It's not a coincidence that there continues to be a lot of LB value late in the draft.

That would definitely help our team more than any of the actual (sorta) players we drafted.

Mecca 04-26-2009 05:46 PM

All of those guys we wanted would be on our team and playing...but hey late round picks don't matter I read it here on the planet.

Mr. Irrelevant '09 missed 10 of his 30 field goal tries as a senior and wasn't anywhere close to the draft radar. He did make all his extra points. On the plus side, Succop couldn't possible turn out worse than Justin Medlock.

Division II players that I'm advocating bringing in as UDFAs:

Mike Reilly, QB, Central Washington

Daniel Skuta, ILB, Grand Valley State

Samuel Allen, OT, Grand Valley State

Charly Martin, WR, West Texas A&M

Edward Grant, WR, North Alabama

<s>Roger Allen, G, Missouri Western

</s>

Honestly like I said, they could have taken an OL with every pick but the 1st one and people wouldn't have bitched unless they took some ridiculous one like the only one they took.

Hopefully we can bring one of these guys in as a free agent, keep fingers crossed

Don't some of the UDFA's have alot of teams trying to sign them? So I think why not take a chance on one of the better prospects instead of a K this late. But hey what do I know?
