No interest in KU hanging with MU - a university with delusions of grandeur that started this mess and is now desperately trying pledge loyalty to a conference it mistakenly felt it could throw under the bus for a better gig.

Zero value staying with KSU, a second/third tier school that has latched onto KU for too long now and brings nothing to the table academically or athletically. I'd like to see KU get a Pac 16 invite, get away from MU and KSU and reset.

I don't think they would be part of the deal...Boise, Utah, BYU, TCU and maybe AF...with the Memphis, Houston and SMU a possibility...Depending on who stays...A&M might stay on with the Big 12...

I really am starting to think the Big 12 is going to survive, just radically different than before...here is a thought

East:
Kansas
KState
Missouri
Iowa
Baylor
Memphis

West:
Utah
BYU
Boise
AF
A&M
TCU

But, that hasn't stopped the blame from coming. Nebraska went out of their way to blame Mizzou for the demise of the Big XII. There's always been a feeling that Mizzou would like to join the Big Ten. And the media's jumped all over it. Now that NU is in, and Mizzou isn't... it's time to pile on.

Nebraska and Mizzou were given that ultimatum... Why? Clearly Texas and it's entourage was also looking around. Colorado had a foot out the door, and was wearing track shoes...

The ultimatum was given because Texas knew NU and MU were both "invited" to the Big 10... and they liked what they had.... being the big bully on the block. Now, they'll be just another team in the Pac 10.

Missouri will still end up in the Big 10. Being first is not important.

(Or we'll all end up kissing Texas' ass in what remains of the Big 12 for a year or three.)

Well put. And I agree 100%.

Please tell me how Mizzou started this. Also, you cannot cite any Chip Brown reports as sources.

Horrible idea....need to stick around for the early termination fees paid by each school that leaves the conference early for some new renovations....Plus I'm not sold on KU playing teams 2 time zones away

ArrowheadHawk 06-13-2010 10:21 AM

I agree with adding Memphis, Cincy, Houston, Boise St, BYU.

Ignore him - he's just the last idiot who can't post on this thread without trying to start shit.

Ugh, That is an ugly conference. And with the power conferences maybe getting 2 auto-bids, I don't see this as a BCS conference.

Iowa State and Baylor have no business being in a BCS league.

A&M will either go SEC or PAC-10, rather than stay in that shithole of a conference. And you gotta think KU will be begging to go west or catch on with the BIg East, or their days as a power player in college basketball are probably over.

I really don't see the Big 12 living on without UT and OU, might as well just join the MWC.

Mizzou didn't start shit, it was just known that they would leave if offered

oh come now ... Mizzou was on the leading edge of this from the very beginning. Don't act like MU was some kind of unknowing victim. MU saw an opportunity and took a shot ... now it looks like it might not work out.

If Nebraska hadn't backdoored ya you guys would be strutting around singing *we are the champions* and laughing at everyone still left in the Big 12.

The only people who weren't neck deep in this shit from the beginning were OU,OSU,ISU,KU and KSU. I'm not even sure about OU/OSU ... they may have been whispering in Texas's ear the entire time too.

Jesus Bug. You seem a bit hypersensitive here.

I don't give one good damn about Nebraska or their relevance. They moved on. More power to 'em. But should the Big XII survive, watching them hand over the cash will be pretty damn ironic.

Other than they would be giving up their automatic bid into the BCS..as someone pointed out earlier in the thread, Boise, Mepmhis, BYU have been in top 20 power rankings the past few years...they are up and comers ...UT might stay as well...the only thing we know for sure is NU, CU, OU, OSU are gone or good as gone...the others well they might stay

wouldn't this be interesting

Kansas
KState
Iowa
Missouri
Memphis
Cincinnati

TT
UT
A&M
TCU
Baylor
Houston

Texas could have its own TV network and Memphis and Cincinnati would bring expanded TV market to conference

Interesting to note:

KC #31 TV Market
Cincin #34
SLC # 33
Denver #18 (AF has a large following in Denver)
STL #21
Dallas #5
Memphis #48
Houston #10

uhh. you know its between isu and nebraska to win the north this year right? even with iowa state having the hardest schedule in the nation. your basing them off previous teams they have been.. they are a lot different and better under rhoads. they beat themselves last year.. that isnt happening this year now that they have a year in the new systems

The Birmingham News citing two SEC sources reported Texas A&M could be headed for the SEC and is expected to shun the Pac-10 or Pac-16.

According to Kevin Scarbinsky, “Barring political intervention in the Lone Star State, two well-connected SEC insiders told The Birmingham News today, Texas A&M is going to leave the Big 12 and join the SEC.”
