He's fast, has great route running, can find space in a zone and is 6'2.

Do want.

I think a lot of people would agree, but how far?

But is a slim at 187-189lbs. He may have a problem getting jammed or bumped off his rout in the NFL. Some are comparing him to Chase. Chase has a good 10 lbs on the guy and looks and is much stronger. I'd be happy with him, but I would not give up a lot to trade up for him.

I'm not comparing him to Chase, but Chase isn't big either. He's pretty small physically.

Devonta Smith and Waddle are also smaller, but both look like they could be great wide receivers (assuming their qb doesn't screw them over).

I just think Williams would excel with Reid.

I know the “smart” thing would be to trade up a little for the best edge possible then draft a receiver project often. But damn I could talk myself into a trade up for a wideout then just draft high motor pass rushers often. Like go get a corvette now and buy a cheap work truck often.

We have whiffed on pass rush for a few years. Veach had better do something or it will be along year. Every team killed Burrow but us.

This is where I'm at.

Veach will get roasted on here if we trade up for a WR. But if they see the guy they want and go and get him, I'm on board.

WR1 has made this team go over the past few years.

But the smart move is trading 29 and 50 for the DE and then using 30 on the WR they want if he's available.

Please get Williams or Watson!

That’s a little misleading as several of the guys we have on 1 year contracts now will probably be back again next year on 1 year deals.

And then add 12 draft picks to that (or 10 if you think we’ll trade a couple).

And probably another 10-15 UDFA after the draft, of which probably 3-5 make the team. Most of which will probably be under contract for more than one year or will be retained on a year to year basis.

So that’ll get you to at least 40 players there for 2023. And takes up maybe $25-$30 mil. in cap space. So still leaves you about $50 mil. to play with in FA before the draft in 2023.

The Chiefs won’t have any problem fielding a full team with that amount of cap space for 2023.

The Chiefs have one of the better cap situations in the NFL right now and it’s about to get better with the influx of young cheap talent that is coming. We’ll be just fine.

Anyone who tells you other wise is an idiot.

True. And we can still pay Orlando Brown and have a truckload of cash.

The Arrowhead Pride guys are convinced the Chiefs are going to trade up as high as #10 for a DE. Their reasoning is that the Chiefs were completely inactive in the first round of DE free agents. So they think there's some that the Chiefs really like and they were planning to trade up even before the Hill trade.

Just reporting the news. We'll see what happens.

Yep, this is my thinking too. First preference is to provide elite weapons. I also don't know which DE i want to go up for. Maybe Johnson?

Unless by some miracle Thibadeux is up there i don't see it. Who are we getting? Maybe Travon Walker? Great.potential but helluva gamble

That smart thing would be to actually use the value we got from the Hill trade, not give it away.

Roasted? No. Veach has earned my trust.

Still, that doesn't mean that trading away most, if not all, of the value we got for Hill is a good idea, especially for a guy that can't contribute right away, if at all, in his first season.

Bad ideas are bad ideas, even for Veach.
