Not real thrilled about the play in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Defense isn't getting much pressure other than Hendrickson and when that happens, guys stand back there for 4 seconds until a WR finds a hole in the zone. This is something Lamar has always done. Drop back, wait a few seconds for someone to find a seam then let it go. The times the Bengals have been successful against him is when they clog the middle, have the ends rush wide and then peel back to close the lanes that he usually runs through. They confused the hell out of him in '21 when they did this.

On offense, they're going to HAVE to find a way to give Burrow time. They have more than enough on offense, providing they can passpro, regardless of how the running game is doing.

Right at this moment i'm not worried but i'm not real confident either. Kind of wait and see. If they can't find a way to get the Ravens off the field, they're going to need to score 28 to win this game.

It’s so much fun being a member of the Bengals message board in the GDT pretending to be one of them by complaining about bad calls but then subsequently noting that it seems like the Bengals hid his injury and that’s a disaster.

Waiting for the first Jake Browning INT to post, “I’d rather have Jake from State Farm.”

People bet a lot of money on these games to have a team lie about their star QB's injury. Deduct a 1st round pick.

Once again i find myself sitting here wondering why i continue to be a Cincinnati are sports fan. A baseball team that hasn't won a playoff series since '95. A football team that shows a spark of success every few years then loses every single SB they've been in and a college basketball team with a coach that has wasted more talent that any 3 other coaches combined, who only won 1 championship because he had so much talent that he couldn't **** it up but then he did proceeded to **** that up a couple years later when he took an undefeated team to the final 4 and shit all over himself. Meanwhile, all the "rivals" of said area sports team are able to have extended periods of success with multiple championships.

So i'm gonna open up the floor. Please give me some ideas on what the **** is wrong with my brain that i continue to support the teams in this area when they do nothing but shit all over themselves and proceed to fall all over each other due to the massive amount of runny, smelly shit they've just produced.

Nothing is wrong with you... Continue to support full heartedly, believe me, the outright joy and happiness when it happens is unreal. It's just a game, but man, being at the Chiefs/49ers Superbowl with my son and crying at the end of the game was one, if not the best, day of my life.

You're a smart guy who has above average sports acumen. Your loyalty is commendable and you, like many Cincinnati fans deserve better. But loyalty is a two-way street, and you have little to show for your fidelity.

There's always room on the Planet for another Chiefs fan; we've suffered too-- but our ownership respects the people. Come, join us in pledging loyalty to a team that isn't perfect, but will at least occasionally repay you for caring. Cincinnati will forever betray your heart-- and that is happiness thrown away.

You're a legit fan, and we as Chiefs fans know exactly where you are right now. The pain is neverending and you're just numb.

The Bengals will win a SB at some point in your lifetime, likely some season after Mahomes retires, but they'll win one. And it'll mean everything.

Sports fandom is a rough road. Every year the vast majority of fanbases are disappointed. Some never seem to find redemption. The majority of my life this was the story for the Chiefs and Royals. I had seen the Royals win it all as a 5th grader in 85, but had no idea how special that was. 30 years later they did it again and I got it.

And the Chiefs. They were my dominatrix. My tormentor for decades. I fell in love with them in the Schottenheimer era and it was deep. But they were hopeless in the postseason. But times do change. Once they do, it's all worth it.

Sorry man. I've spent enough time in the cellar of sports fandom to have empathy. But at this point just want the Chiefs to rack up as much success as possible before the ride ends and we come back to the pack.

There are too many thing in life that you can't change, but your fanhood is not one of them. There is no barrier to entry here. All you have to do is say the words with us.

I am a Kansas City Chiefs fan.

And Presto-Change-o you're a Kansas City Chiefs fan. Then you can celebrate with us. You can laugh with us at other teams claiming they are just as good as us. You can take immense pride in your QB being the new GOAT. You instantaneously go from 0 Super Bowl wins to 3.

It's like being baptized. Accept Patrick Mahomes as your football savior and wash your football grief away.

I’ve been in RFaulks shoes too many times to count. You can read 15ish years worth of reactions on here. It’s brutal.

The only way we can truly empathize with him is if Jet Chip Wasp didn’t work and we lost against the 49ers, which sets us on the path of never getting back. Alternate reality shit I’d rather not think about.

You are one of us, RF. You’ve earned your stripes. Becoming an accepted member of Chiefsplanet isn’t easy.

What I’m curious about is if Burrow’s hidden injury put him at higher risk of injury playing this week or if it was a type of injury that didn’t matter when he played it was a risk regardless.

FlaChief58 11-17-2023 07:51 AM

It'll be interesting to find out the extent of Kevin's injury. Judging by his reaction when he tried to throw the ball on the sideline, it looked much worse than a sprain. I'm not a doctor, but I did stay at a holiday inn express one time.

I feel like this was me in like 2012. Diehard for Chiefs, Royals, and Mizzou. Pioli was dreadful and SAVE OUR CHIEFS was in full force. The Royals always had a 'future', but it never materialized and seemed to always be investing in the farm. And Mizzou, well Pinkel was always seemingly right at the line of getting us a Big 12 Championship, but alas it was never in the cards.

Genuinely, be proud of yourself that you are a real fan. I'd tell you to join us for the Red and Gold, but I know your heart wouldn't be in it.

I think most of us here can say genuinely with the Chiefs' 2 rings, and the Royals winning it all in 15 (and a run in 14 I'll never forget), I like to think that it means so much more when you've been through the ringer.

I always used to compare KC sports fans like myself akin to the biblical Israelites, wandering through the Desert for 40 years, denied and delayed entry to the promised land.

But we're in the promised land now, and let me tell you man, it was DEFINITELY worth wandering the desert.

Hey man, been there done that.

I was born in 83, so I don't remember the Royals WS and barely remember the KU 88 Ship.

After Roy shitting the bed and Self getting punked in 05,06,07, I was thinking KU was cursed. 08 legitimately changed my life. Basketball became fun again.

I knew the Chiefs were cursed FFS they were bad save 2 seasons of disappointement with a mercinary SF castoff. Then we were really good under Vermiel and won *checks notes* 0.00 playoff games...****.

Then the decade of darkness. I should have checked out far more than I did while the franchise was finding new and creative ways to be the worst ****ing fan experience possible.

Then we got Reid and and got respectable again. After the Andrew Luck (the concussion game) dog**** implosion I had to check out for a bit. I was barely paying attention to the Triplett game (**** that mother****er with a D9 Cat).

Then Mahomes happened and changed my fandom.

Just read some threads here from 2014, and we've all been there. Just check out for a bit if need be. Fandom is weird. I'm a pretty normal well adjusted dude. Run a business, have a good family, I'm pretty damned happy in life. But the Bowl win in 20 (and the KU win in 08) legitimately changed my life. I can't explain why it means what it means to my life. But it does.

I'm guessing everybody is joking, but pretty sure there is no history of the NFL taking away draft picks because of injury reports. Just fines of the team and coach that I can remember.

This comes from Schefter's X post:

The NFL routinely looks into matters of compliance with the Injury Report policy, and will do so in this instance as well. Teams can be fined or even potentially lose a draft pick.
I don't know if it's ever been done though.

It does suck and if anyone understands what you are going through, they are here. I have been a Chiefs and Royals fan my whole life (46 years).

I remember as a kid growing up only listening to the Chiefs on the radio because I don't remember them being on TV because the Chiefs of the 80's were awful. In my lifetime pre-Mahomes KC won 4 playoff games.......total. They beat the Raiders in 1990 (I believe) and I don't even remember that. The Marty era Chiefs are defined by being great regular season teams, but as sure as the sun rises, losing in the playoffs. Two of those playoff wins were in one season with Montana before he got knocked out of the AFCCG ruining our chances. Then with Andy and Alex we got one playoff win against the Texans, but dealt with more playoff disappointment.

The Royals were good before my time and won the WS in 85 and then became one of the worst franchises in baseball until a good run in 2013-2014. Then they became one of the worst teams in baseball again.

While it sucks a lot, when they do win it all it is even more sweet. Your team will win one eventually and you can relish in that. As far as Bengals fans you are a good egg. A large number of them suck and I relish in their misery, especially after the "script", Burrowhead, and Mayor nonsense.
