Oh that's right, Travis Kelce is. Nevermind. |

Probably the best hands on the team (I probably cursed him with that statement), fast, tenacious blocker on the line and elite open field blocker. Really a complete TE. |

Jimmy G. only threw 8 passes last week, yet still managed to take a sack.

Man, Pat's hard count is lethal. I'm betting he will hit Ford with it a time or two to get some free plays.

The best defense Mahomes has ever played was the 2018 Jaguars, IMHO. They came in hot at 3-1 and thought they were going to control our offense. They had much more talent than this 9ers group top to bottom.
Andy and Pat proceeded to send that team spiraling down into what they have become now. This isn’t the first good defense to think they were gonna be the ones... and it won’t be the last. |

His stats for two games looks like a bad day for Alex Smith, less than 20 passes for 150 yard, a pick and a sack. He's garbage. |

We know that guy well. He is not well-regarded here, because he was a brokedick who was easily exploited by really good offenses and was a key part of the significant run D issues KC had the past few years. Ford was a complete nonfactor against the Patriots and Tom Brady (seriously, he played 84 percent of the snaps and is gooseeggs across the board. No pressures. No sacks. No QB hits. No tackles. He did sure as **** get blocked out of a bunch of run plays by Julian Edelman and Chris Hogan, though). Literally the only time he showed up on the screen was when he was whistled for the offsides that negated Brady's INT, and when he was seen on the sideline dimly asking someone if he actually was. He was low impact against Anthony Costanzo and the Colts last year, too; he had a strip sack late in the game, when the Colts trailed 24-0, and that was about it. Chiefs fans don't view him as a "must" double-team. The Chiefs don't even routinely double Joey Bosa (or Mack, or Miller, or Chubb, etc.), though they do chip him with a RB/TE at times. They may double Bosa or chip him and double Armstead/Buckner, then leave everyone else singled up, including Ford. But I don't expect KC to keep a LOT of extra blockers in on regular downs, unless they're trying to run a "shot" play. |

Looks like the 49ers fans are underestimating the Chiefs defense and Patrick Mahomes. Good luck with that. |

Jimmy carved up the prime Jags D with a team that went 1-10 before he got his first start. |
Quote:
And it's not just TEs who can destroy him in run blocks. He's very susceptible to WAM blocks by WR because 1) he's bitchmade; 2) he seems to have pretty poor awareness/tunnel vision The Chiefs generally are going to throw a LOT on 1st and 2nd down. If Ford is on the field, they'll check into a decent number of run plays and send the play right at him. I'm sure he'll be motivated and such. But he's not a concern until he shows me he should be. |

And carved them up? ROFL
242 yards 2 TDs and 1 INT. That’s Alex Smith carved them up. |
Stolen from elsewhere.
Mahomes Against Top 10 Defenses in His Career: 9-3 record, 30 PPG, 66.3% Completion Rate, 287 Yards/Game, 25 total TDs, 7 INTs, and a 104.5 Passer Rating. Limiting it to top 5 defenses, he's a perfect 5-0, averaging 27.8 PPG, with a 66.1% completion rate, 320 yards/game, 9 total TDs, 4 INTs, and a 95.3 passer rating. |

KC's defense has been stealthy good. I hadn't paid that much attention to Clark, but a local radio station re-capped his year. Looks like KC raped Seattle on that deal. KC's getting its money's worth in him. |

Look....I know this holds no actual bearing and that it’s not like the 49ers don’t want to win or anything.
But you can see that this team won’t accept anything less than that trophy for Reid. EVERY ****ING PLAYER wants to win this for him. I think Reid may see this as a “I’m not holding anything back to go win this”. You don’t hear anything on the 49ers side about how they need to go win this for Kyle because of what happened against the Pats. That’s all you hear from the Chiefs players. |
Quote:
They're not going to run just to run and establish it. Makes it harder for teams to use gadget players like Ford. |
Ford played over 50% of the snaps against the Packers and had 1 tackle. That seems familiar.

Think about how much the average Chiefs fan dislikes Dee Ford and blames him for costing them the AFC Championship game last year (not just for his dumbass penalty, but also for his dumbass incredulity at being called for a penalty, and his complete no-show in the most important game of the year). And then think about what that means for the players. I'm sure the intensity of that feeling is even worse. New Dee Ford quote after SB: "They said I was bitchmade. Am I?" |
Can we have Mahomes hard count, draw Ford offsides and then have the entire offensive line point and laugh?

What is really amusing is them believing their team has a better Offense than the Chiefs. This is some Mad TV type shit.

Beating them by 30 would be nice. |
The 49ers “vaunted defense” has only held opponents under 20 points twice in their last eleven games.
They let Matt Ryan drop 29 on them at home and lost. They let JARED GOFF (LOL) hang 31 on them. They let Drew Brees absolutely torch them for 5 touchdowns. They lost to Lamar Jackson who cannot throw. They consistently can’t solve Russell Wilson, a poor man’s Mahomes. And they allowed Kyler Murray to score over 25 points on them twice this season. Mahomes isn’t terrified of them, in fact he’s licking his chops. This is going to be a massacre. |
It's the fourth quarter. Mahomes is leading a methodical drive downfield against the 49er defense. The clock is ticking. A holding call on first down backs up the Chiefs. Two consecutive unsuccessful plays leave the Chiefs with a difficult 3rd and long situation. Given the down and distance, the Niners substitute in Dee Ford. He lines up, double and triple checking his position to ensure he's clear of the neutral zone. The ball is snapped. Ford screams off the edge, timing the cadence perfectly. He's beaten the offensive tackle. He sees Mahomes in front of him, like a sitting duck. It's Ford's moment to shine. They make eye contact. Mahomes takes a knee. Ford looks at the clock. Time expires. Chiefs win 47-3.

What’s really surprising is that Kyler Murray was able to do what he did, with one of the worst OLs in the NFL. |
