I beat Ghost of Tsushima on PS5. That game was a lot of fun and I ended up at 127 hours when I finally finished the story.

So this Overwatch 2 launch has been a ****ing disaster.

Long ques to get in only to have the servers dump you right away and then put you back at the end of the que again. Bugs. Players missing skins and character unlocks.

We're on day 2 now and nothing has changed.

I'm a fan of Cyberpunk. Actually on a second playthrough as a street kid, after the 1.6 update.

But that's a real crackhead thing to say. Witcher 3 is well known as one of the best RPGs of all time. It was realeased in 2007, yet it still gets an insane amount of gameplay. The Witcher series of games has sold 50 million copies.

I would assume that by calling it out like that, they're suggesting that it's something above and beyond what they've done in the past. :shrug:

Never got into the Witcher series, it was kinda bland to me. Cyberpunk is the perfect setting for me.

Over the years I have pretty much moved on from most Fantasy settings and much prefer futuristic stuff. Really would love another great Mass Effect game but I doubt EA delivers that very seriously.

I had some fun with conan exiles but it was short lived. When the game first came out it was a blast playing with a couple of friends and then we made a big alliance and wiped out the entire server and then there was nothing else to do.

So it will probably be like that and I'll probably still play it. Those types of games are pretty fun when they first come out.

I hate the fact that Madden has sunken so low. I constantly wish I had a football game to play and every time I think about just biting the bullet and trying the new Madden, I remember the last several times I've done that and didn't like it. They just refuse to change the core gameplay and really flesh out franchise mode. They know they can just milk the same game and update the rosters and all the idiot MUT players will lap it up. Until EA loses the exclusive NFL license, sim football in video games is over.

I just don't see the passion there from 3rd party publicly traded developing companies to make the games we grew up with. Microtransactions and GaaS rule the day. Indies and 1st party developers are about it these days.

Playing the beta of this now, kinda has a Mass Effect feel to it.

So i bought my son another PS4 (his old one was acting up), then i took his old one and did a fresh install on it etc, it seems to be working well enough now.

Now i have a PS4 in my room (ive always wanted to play a console game when going to bed).

I've been paying for this PS+ shit this whole time for my kid.

Now that i'm using it....HAD NO IDEA HOW COOL THIS IS.

Hooked on Final Fantasy 7 remake and "Little Nightmares". Dope ass games. I haven't done console gaming since PS3.

Same. I played for a bit, but abandoned it. Which is weird because I would have thought the viking theme would be one of the most fun. Something was missing though.

Wish i could get into single player RPG campaigns. They're often neat looking games but rarely do they hold my attention. Even that FF7 remake i started playing is starting to annoy me.

I still have a copy of Elden Ring that i've only put 2hrs into thus far. Most of that was character editing, lol.

I think for me is that it felt inferior to Odyssey. As such I held Valhalla to that standard and it seemed to fall short.

See I would say the high point for me was Origins. I played the hell out of Odyssey but I don't think I, at any point, just said "wow" like I did with Origins.

Gotta agree with htismaqe. Origins was definitely the absolute peak best AC game. Odyssey was almost equally amazing. But it copied a bit too much of Origins, and I didn't think the time frame was quite as intriguing for me. I liked the ship based stuff in Odyssey better, that's about it. That said, I still played it through twice with a shit eating grin on my face...

They could have done a lot more with the golden age setting but instead it was kind of like a meet and greet of famous (and sometimes mythical) people. I don't know, it just seemed a little bland compared to Origins.

Excellent list. I'd add Risk of Rain 2 to it, though it's better with friends.

Seen a ton of hype for God of War Ragnarok now that we're really close to release. So excited for it.

So far I'm having a lot of fun. They really went all out with the difficulty settings this time, you can literally tweak everything. I've turned damage up so that combat is punishing but kept my damage the same so that mobs don't turn into damage sponges. It makes for a pretty intense experience.

That being said, I just started the actual game. I spent about 12 hours in the first area just exploring and fighting.

I'm totally addicted at this point. It just seems to fit together so well. And the abundance of side quests is refreshing because they're not just regular fetch quests.

Horizon MMO coming to PC and PS5 by NCSOFT

I recently got the MW2 PS5 bundle and I'm a little mixed on it myself.

It's CoD so it's generally more of the same thing they've been pumping out for a decade now, but I don't like the new perk system or the weapon unlock system either.

For the perks: for each loadout you have two optional perks that you will start the game with. Then each loadout has an additional perk that will be unlocked roughly 5 minutes into the match, followed by an ultimate perk that will activate roughly 8 minutes into the match.

On top of that weird system, I don't like the perks much themselves. I've found myself settling on using "scavenger" which is one that I basically never used in previous games simply because the other options suck balls.

Also, and this is a more annoying issue for me at the moment, the weapon system requires you to unlock certain guns by using other guns, often from a completely different class. I mainly use SMGs and am trying to unlock all of them to see which one I like best, but instead of them all unlocking after reaching a certain level like normal, instead they require you to do research on which guns you'll need to use and level up before you even unlock it.

For example, there is an SMG I want to unlock called, idk, the Hurricane. In order to unlock it, I must first level the Kastov, which is an assault rifle, to level 12, but in order to do that I must first unlock the Kastov which requires me to level the Whatchamacallit, which is a sniper rifle, to level 25.

It is truly the stupidest ****ing thing on the planet and I'm not sure what ****ing psycho signed off on it.

I said 'unlock' a lot in that post, but you get my point.

Idk who thought that shit was a good idea, but it's ****ing infuriating me right now. I just want to find the best SMG for me and instead they're making me use these dumbass single-fire rifles that I have literally NEVER used in any CoD I've ever played.

Oh, and not that this matters, but they've seemed to have done away with checking your stats. You can't even see your lifetime K/D or confirms/denies in Kill Confirmed, none of that. Small thing but still weird.

Oof. Seems like they continue to phone it in with COD.

Don't get me wrong, I still have a ton of fun when I play.

This is my first CoD since WW2 so I'm not sure if this is new, but they allow you to choose multiple game modes prior to queuing. So I've just been picking TDM, FFA, Kill Confirmed and Domination and I can get into a diverse array of matches super quickly.

I just.. truly don't understand the logic behind forcing people to use one gun in order to unlock another.

Wow. I was really considering purchasing this, but that sounds incredibly frustrating.

Yeah, like I said, I enjoy the game, but the more I think about it, the more it pisses me off. Why the **** would they think this was a good idea? All you do is piss off your player base. No one benefits from me having to play with single-fire rifles and LMGs when I don't want to play with them. I'm truly baffled as to what their thought process was.

And this quote shows exactly what I'm talking about. Note how many of these weapons you need to use are not even SMGs. It's absurd.

I don't mind when they gate upgraded weapons. It helps the player avoid becoming OP and ruining the game (I'm big on difficulty myself, I want a challenge).

But gating NEW weapons and forcing you to use weapons you don't even want to use is whack.

Modern Warfare 2019 was superb. Probably the best COD ever.

This one feels SOOOO much worse for some reason. Everything from perks, to the maps, to the weird unfinished feel of it. The skins and weapons progressions. Nothing is intuitive.

To me, 2019 was like a 95/100 and this is like a 70/100. I was so excited for this one and just feel so underwhelmed.

I actually purchased the PS5 call of duty bundle, the damn thing plays good on the ps5. I actually like this call of duty. The last one I played was black ops 3 I think.
