I just think philosophically it's stupid to have one guy beat the top tag team on his own (with or without a ten year old). And then you multiply that stupidity by having him hand over the belts the next night.

I also have issues with turning the so-called monster into mister jokey fun guy, picking kids out of the crowd for matches, but that's a whole other thing. Maybe the goal there is trying to turn him into the new Cena instead of Reigns.

I just have lots of issues with that whole thing...

I'd rather see Braun as the new Cena than Reigns.

I think literally everyone would rather see Braun in that position than Reigns.

keg in kc 04-10-2018 12:40 PM

Oh god. I wonder if Jeff Jarrett's doing anything. ROFL

Line of the show last night had to be Angle tossing out "I hear TNT is hiring" to Kevin and Sami.

I grow tired of seeing Triple H....who should have retired and hung up his tights long ago. He could still do wonders as the new Corporate bad guy and never wrestle and still achieve the attention he wants.

And for all the Nakamura fans....I just can't get into the version of him they have in WWE.

Also...when are we going to see a Styles/Roode feud?

If that's your PoV, than I don't think you get it. Smart fans can realize bad creative is just bad creative, but you can dislike somebody because they're not great in the ring.

John Cena isn't great in the ring, loudly calls spots and is prone to botches. He is generally carried in his higher ranked matches. If not liking somebody's wrestling on a wrestling show makes me a delusional hater, well okay.

I wasn't calling you out specifically but it seems you want to take it that way. You are free to feel how you want about Cena....I was just saying I don't get the hate.

The WWE hasn't had a very creative team in a long time so you should be used to that. Thus the reason they don't have an established bedrock star like during the attitude era.

Wrote up a long thing about how much I hate both the iconic duo and carmella and how I hate being right about Asuka not showing up after mania, and then my internet died and I lost it all.

Anyway, Asuka appears to be done and now I get to enjoy fast-forwarding through all the garbage with the new women's champion and the newly-debuted Billie/Peyton, because they're all annoying as hell on the mic and can't work for shit in the ring. Yay. Hopefully Charlotte destroys her soon, because Carmella for me is just the worst kind of 'change-the-channel' heel.

Shinsuke saying 'no speak engrish' was amazing on so many levels. About died laughing.

Liked Paige.

Rest of the show was just meh, aside from the main event. Disappointing end to mania week.

Mosbonian 04-11-2018 04:01 AM

I feel the same way about Orton and Mahal as many do about Cena and Reigns...I think it is time for Orton to be gone. Or at least on TV a lot less.

The WWE schedule just wears down the body gradually because guys are taking bumps 5-6 times per week and you add travel to that. The Indy/Japan guys work like 5 times a month max. They do take some unnecessary risks at times, for sure, but overall they are going to be in better health than guys on a WWE schedule.

Good F'n question. I don't understand the whole event. Card looks nice but they are completely disrespecting every woman on the roster by doing this.

dj56dt58 04-11-2018 08:28 AM

I was ok with it at first, I figured they would have women competitors as well..maybe try to help change the culture there, but that's not the case it seems. I also don't get why the male competitors would want anything to do with it. The women work their ass off as much as the men and to me this whole event is a slap in their face.

Money....lots and lots of money. You are thinking that the WWE can change a culture that has existed for generations?

All this is for the WWE us an opportunity to gain exposure in a new territory.

I get what you are trying to say....but you don't walk into a country like that and say...."if you want a WWE event you have to live by my rules". That being naive....

How much money do they need? I think they are doing very well. Are they going to turn the mat into a screen next? It's rather hypocritical to throw out a pg product for sponsors, "revolutionize" the womens division including a first ever womens RR, hiac, ect, then perform in a country where they can't even travel to, a country that fully controls women and executes people for being gay.

BryanBusby 04-11-2018 01:17 PM

He had the right answer, but left turned on the answer.

Money. That and the fact they are contractually obligated to compete, or they risk being fired.

With how much WWE is putting into this oil rumble and oil mania, the Saudi's must be paying a shit ton. Stock holders care about that.

I can read it 20 times and still give you the same answer. You are assuming that the WWE shouldn't go there based on a moral compass...money always wins over a moral compass.

I certainly didnt say wwe should say change your ways or we wont come, nor did I say going there would change their ways. I simply said if they would at least have females compete it could certainly be a start. They did this somewhere else it seems and they did have female competition..

It just doesn't make much since to do this for money. Viewers would equal more money so why dish out a pg product if morals aren't in question? I could give 2 shits less about morals just be consistent. Don't preach week after week about how the women are equal to the men and give them the same types of matches, let them main event, ect then go to a place where women have no rights.

I have been on a wrestling streaming site kick lately and came across High Spots Wrestling Network. It's basically a site that has tons of shows from various indies in the US and some foreign indies. For US indies, the biggest 2 they cover are CZW and PWG. CZW is basically what ECW was in the early days. It has some decent wrestling and then a lot of garbage death matches. It's about as un-PG as you can get so if you want ultra-violence, it's definitely got that.

It also has a lot from IWA Mid-South, where guys like Danielson and Punk did a lot of work early in their careers. They would have a tournament each year called the Ted Petty Invitational that was an Indie all-star tournament that had some really big names back in the mid-2000s.

I think I need to retire so I can keep up with New Japan, ROH and all the other indies, and then catch WWE for their big shows.

That's one of the categories they have. There are like over 50 in total, with the number of videos ranging from 1 to 400. The biggest number of videos are WXW (German promotion), CZW and PWG.

I wish there was more RevPro content but it looks like the shows they have on there are fantastic.

I tried powering through some Tournament of Death stuff from CZW but it's hard to watch more than one match at a time. From the most recent tournament, a guy was thrown off the roof of a truck onto a trampoline strung with barb wire.

Jerm 05-07-2018 09:46 AM

Man it was startling to say the least to go last night from watching Dontaku night 2 (LTTP I know) to just skimming over Backlash for the finishes...holy shit...

The announcing is just so god awful as well....all about buzzwords and stupid phrases no one cares about.

Kelly and Callis are AWESOME, they were esp. during Okada/Tana...so good. Announcing can add a lot if done right...just another reason why the WWE's product is so bad right now.

Anyways enough of that garbage...

BOSJ is on the horizon and looks awesome and Dominion is stacked...could be show of the year honestly. Okada/Omega IV 2 out of 3 falls, no time limit...who the hell knows how long that'll go. Jericho/Naito should be great too. Cannot wait.

The only one I give a shit about is Graves and even grates on me from time to time...

big nasty kcnut 05-07-2018 12:07 PM

botsj is stacked this year. Also wwe need to stop pushing Roman. Finn Balor,Braun, kevin, sami and seth are the guys who are the ones to get pushed. Also Nia vs. ronda should happen now.

Greatest Royal Rumble was pretty lame. I canceled my WWE Network after that. I might pick back up after football season like I usually do, until then I just don't care for most of what is going on in WWE right now. Nothing compels me.
