The Royals have shown no signs of being competitive.

Well, then I guess heads will have to roll. Apparently, the bat boy and the catcher who warms up the 'pen are going to pay for the sins of DM and Yost:evil:

No way. The expectations were far to high for this season. Heads have to roll if this season ultimately creates something less than a competitive finish. Not even David Glass could defend that.

"I'm getting the same results from $92M that I got from $60M..." /Glass

The Glass family could give a flying f**k about winning the AL Central. It's about money. Attendance is down. So GMDM better start thinking about the next shiny object to add to the outfield pavilion. Maybe a waterslide or wading pool for the kiddies. Maybe brass stripper poles -with strippers- in the Rivals Bar.... something.... ANYTHING to sell tickets.

Oh, and finding a third baseman who can hit over .200, a starting DH and First Baseman who can hit more than ONE HR in two months, that would be OK too. Not a priority or anything. Just if you have time to get around to it.

We're leading the league in fewest home runs.

Now Zimmer is dealing with a lat strain I seen.

"Here Royals Fans. I'll hold this football, and you run up and kick it. I won't pull it away and crush your hopes and dreams and wishes for a winning season and a return to the playoffs. You can trust me, I'd never lie to you....:

My preference would be David and Dan Glass and anyone else related that could take over ownership.

I wouldn't invest in the team either if I was Glass. You put together + .500 team, last year, and attendance DOESNT go up. Strictly from a business perspective, why would he continue to think increased spending and winning would make him more profitable? It's easy to spend 30m, lose 100 games, still get ppl to come out to and watch the futility while cutting your cost.

2012 Royals Attendance 21,748
2013 Royals Attendance 21,614
2014 Royals Attendance 20,676

Team gets better, less people go. I think it's safe to say this down doesn't give two shits about the Royals anymore.

The Royals sucked ass last year during the prime attendance months. They bumped back nicely at the end of the year.

gblowfish 05-27-2014 12:06 PM

Blowing leads, hitting nothing but singles, and "adjustable pricing" on tickets will do that. I'll bet their TV ratings are about the same. I'm sure there'll be plenty of Cardinal fans, Yankee fans and Red Sox fans here later in the year to boost our numbers. Come watch your team kick our team in the ass.

Same as it ever was.

One of the worst run franchises of all major sports.
