I believe the 5-6 game losing skid started when teams started playing cover 2 on us. I don't think Alex ever really figured it out.

Folks have been doing it for years.

They aren't 2nds. They've never been 2nds.

Are they later 1sts? Yes, but dammit they're firsts.

It really started with the desperate attempts to justify the god-awful Frank Clark trade and it never got any better. Suddenly any pick that wasn't in the top 20 was 'pretty much just a 2nd rounder anyway...'

And yes, it's quite stupd.

Its easy to look back and see who was a reach and who was a steal. They've proven that if the team does their homework and due diligence they should be able to get the quality guys in those middle rounds. Veach has shown that he can find those players but he has also had some whiffs with Speaks and Tanoh, but no one is going to be 100%.

The way Veach and the front office have been drafting lately, I trust them. Whether they trade up, down or stay put I think they will have a good plan in place.
