Well, a win against Alabama and a loss against Arkansas resulted in moving up one spot in the AP poll to number 14. Wonder where they would have been if they had beaten Arkansas?

I figured 10-12.

There's just not a lot of movement at this point in the season. And honestly, there really shouldn't be. These teams have all played 25+ games -- are we really gonna act like we're still learning a lot about them?

As bad as Gray looks on TV...

...he's worse in person.

He's awful.

Dartgod 02-25-2025 08:35 PM

If only they had played with this energy against Arky.

phisherman 02-25-2025 09:37 PM

I saw DJ's last 2 posts right before I turned the game on and thought, "ahhh, shit". But then Mizzou is up by 20. ROFL

phisherman 02-25-2025 09:48 PM

And now they're up by 32.

Well, Florida got beat tonight. That's a surprise. But, after losing to Arkansas, we're still a game behind them. There's still hope left for the double bye in the SEC tournament. One game down to Florida with the tiebreaker. Tied with A&M but they have the tiebreaker. But, A&M and Alabama still have to play Auburn. Alabama and Tennessee play eah other and Florida and Alabama play each other. I like the Tigers chances

That was the joke - Grill came out looking fantastic.

As for Gray - there's a reason Murray-Boyles has like 25 points at halftime - I really can't name a single thing Gray does well.

The highlight of the game, though, was the Antlers tormenting Jordan Butler. And Grays best moment of the night was going straight through Butlers chest on a drive (that probably should've been called a charge).

Actually Gray's best moment was that sick pass to Grill on the back cut. That was probably the highlight of his entire basketball career. I had to wipe my eyes to make sure I wasn't hallucinating.

For one split second in time he looked like Magic Johnson passing a basketball. Unfortunately that's where the resemblance ends.

Gray is what he is, guys.

A big, physical presence who can rebound and occupy space and muscle with opposing bigs.

I think he’s pretty darn effective as a pick-and-roll defender (hedges well, good length, enough foot speed).

And he’s good for at least one hilarious lane violation a game.

You need a guy like him on the roster.

Boxer_Chief 02-26-2025 01:44 PM

This team seems to go as Grill goes. Saw the stat they are 11-0 when he scores 10+ points. Mitchell is turning into a constant scorer and leader. And crews off the bench is huge.

Wow! A&M lost to Vanderbilt tonight. Mizzou is back in the 4 seed.

Guys - Vandy is going to be a REALLY tough out.

I think people are looking past that game. Vanderbilt is a much better team than they seem to be getting credit for and with that win, they're in the tournament right now. But they lose a home game and it's gonna get tighter.

That's going to be arguably their biggest game of the year - they're going to be ready.

Mizzou needs to figure out the road effort issues if they're gonna win that game or the OU game.

jjchieffan 02-27-2025 12:33 AM

Yeah. I've been noticing Vandy. They've swept Kentucky, and beaten aTm and Tennessee once this season. Tennessee barely won by 5 at Tennessee. After the Hogs loss, I'm hoping that Gates and company aren't going to take Vandy lightly. Vsndy could certainly beat the Tigers.
