Alex Smith has a few good years left in him. So do not draft a QB just yet.

When do we get to see one of these "good years"?

One thing that I could get behind if all of the good QB options go early...

1st Round - Reuben Foster, who it sounds like might completely fall out of the first round now..
and
2nd Round - Sidney Jones, arguably the top CB in the draft before his injury, would likely be able to play early in the season

That would load the defense up in a big, big way.

The idea that everyone wants to take a Corner with a blown Achilles so early, in an incredibly deep cb class, is one of the most odd things.

He's not going to get any work till after camp, won't know shit in result and will take another year beyond that to really bounce back. That's what we want from our 2nd round pick?

When KC get serious and surrounds him with some weapons. :D

People shouldn't be surprised if Foster isn't healthy at the start training camp. Minimum of 6 months recovery for his shoulder if all goes well. (Assuming it just wasn't a debridement).

Dude's connected for 73 touchdowns in just 61 games since he has been our starter. Couldn't even find a WR for one TD for one full season.

Yep! QB is not a need in Kansas City.

It's almost as if that post was a troll.

I know. I just thought I'd feed him a bit.

The latest reports that I have seen suggested that Sidney Jones expects to be ready by the start of the season, but to be on the conservative side I would guess he wouldn't be a starter type player til mid-season.

For a 2nd round pick, I think that's definitely worth it if he is as good as he was projected to be.

Uh....good for Sidney.

Guy blew out his achilles 5 weeks ago. The season will start less than 6 months from the date of his injury.

Get the **** outta here, Sidney.

Maybe he starts on the PUP, gets moved to the IR with a 'designated to return' tag and can be back by week 12 or something. Maybe. But c'mon - the kid's not coming back from a ruptured achilles in 6 months to play CB as a rookie. A lineman would have a damn hard time even approaching that timeline.

He's almost certainly a 2017 write-off. Anybody that tells you otherwise is selling something.

O.city 04-24-2017 03:15 PM

Not taking him in 2nd. 3rd, yes.

BryanBusby 04-24-2017 03:37 PM

Wouldn't consider it till Saturday.

TambaBerry 04-24-2017 03:52 PM

I would absolutely take Sidney Jones in the 2nd round, it's basically a first round pick in 18 with using a 2nd round pick. Like you said its a deep draft for cb so I'd draft two anyways. Also, we're not winning shit in 17 because of Alex Smith to I'm fine with him sitting and spending a year with our coaches.
