I'm confused.
People seem to be pissed because Denver traded up to take Paxton Lynch, a guy who Dorsey did his due diligence on, but didn't seem to really want that bad. And I keep hearing people throughout this thread and the draft thread talk about how Denver knows what they're doing with QB's, Denver knows how to draft QB's, Denver is the god of all things QB, Etc. etc. etc. Yes, Denver signed Peyton Manning when the Colts released him. He wanted to go there. Besides the Chiefs were a shitshow at that point and had a moron operating the organization. Now, that aside, please take some time and go over all of Denver's successful moves in the draft with regards to QB (sans Elway 1983). Drafts, trade ups, etc. I'll wait . . . . . . . |

Their best 2 QB's are Butt-fumble and a 2 year project... |
I just don't get the Paxton Lynch love affair? I really don't.
The dude is a project QB that's at least 2 years away from being a potential starter. He doesn't make Denver better now. He certainly wouldn't have made the Chiefs better now (in our window for a SB run). He could turn out to be a good QB one day, but the odds say he is more likely to bust. And, again, Denver doesn't really have that great a track record with regards to QB in the draft (minus Elway and the 83 mess). So I don't really get what all the fuss is about? As far as I'm concerned Denver just wasted a first round pick that doesn't help them now. He might hit, but he's more likely to bust. And they just guaranteed Mark Sanchez will be their starter come opening day! How is this not a 'win' for the Chiefs?!? |

We're talking about the NFL. Not Madden. we've got enough project QBs already. |
Whether or not KC had any interest in Lynch, I don't know. But Dorsey did his homework on him. And if he really wanted him that bad, he could have traded up to get him.
He is at least a couple years away. And I'm not saying the dude is trash, he may be a decent QB one day, but he is more likely to bust than hit. And who is he going to learn under in Denver on how to be a QB in the NFL? At this point, Mark Sanchez. So, yeah, good luck with that and him becoming an elite QB for Denver. |
Lynch is the new Geno

The cheap pile high air over inflates every QB. Hell marky Baywatch can probably pull a Plummer and look decent. Still probably a last place team though.

It's like we're in a time warp, circa 3 years ago. |

Elway...maybe. Since him...no. You have run other team's developed QB's in your system. |
