Lose to the lowely Cubs in a pennant race. Thats about how the year goes I guess.

O.city 09-23-2014 09:18 PM

In that situation, you always play in to take away the cheap hit bloop single.

Ummmm, ok?

Castillo at the plate. He's got some pop, but he's slow. Instead of choosing to play the infield back and the outfield at normal depth it makes more sense to play the outfield in... with 2 outs. That's an easy out with Bourjos at normal depth.

We have won 8 of 10 prior to tonight's game. We are not exactly stumbling to the end of the season.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-23-2014 09:41 PM

That was a good pitch, Castillo just put a nice swing on it. I'm not sure why the OFers were playing so shallow, as Castillo does have pop, but that ball probably drops anyway.

Biggest problem is the ****ing unkillable Pirates. I blame this on a local radio asshole who said after the series in Milwaukee that if the Cards went 9-9 to finish out they'd win the division because there is no way that Pittsburgh could finish 15-3.

Idiot-ass ****.

If Pitt wins the division theu have earned it. 8/11 is playing good ball. The Cardinals have stumbled in the last week or two before, but thats not the case this year.

That was a good pitch. Our pitching has been excellent. Those AB's by Adams, Peralta and Molina ended our best chance to win tonights game.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-23-2014 09:50 PM

They are mother****ing 15-3 since we swept them. Fifteen and ****ing three. Ridiculous.

The Cubs have Neshek's number, for whatever reason.

Pirates getting shellacked and Lackey gives up a 2 run triple to the ****ing pitcher.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-24-2014 07:47 PM

Not PH'ing for Lackey in the 5th was a mistake. It's September and you've got an off day tomorrow. You can't only give yourself one legitimate shot to drive a run in. We're lucky that Castillo made such a poor throw.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-24-2014 07:50 PM

I wonder if we could have gotten Stanton for Taveras, Adams, and Martinez in the offseason. I'm really starting to wish that would have gone down.

BigRedChief 09-24-2014 08:20 PM

Adams and Peralta batting 4th and 5th are killing the line up. Peralta is hitting .192 for the month of September. Adams is a big lumbering guy with no power. Maybe its the oblique issue. Something else thats not been disclosed.

The lineup needs to be changed for the playoffs. But of course its not going to happen. If Mo hadn't traded Craig, he'd still be out there and we would be watching the playoffs on TV.

****ing Descalso. Jesus Christ.

Lackey did his job. 7 innings of 2 runs is a good start for a#4/#5 starter. It's the offense, not the pitching that will bring our season to a halt.

'Hamas' Jenkins 09-24-2014 08:23 PM

Don't PH Grichuk against a RHP with a good breaking pitch. Ever. He cannot hit offspeed pitches.
