Definitely. I'm not sure that scheduling the SEC teams is necessarily a smart decision when you are attempting to build up a program. At least I think they are attempting to do that, maybe they just like being a shit team.

Going all Oregon with the uniforms and scheduling the SEC is a pretty good way to drum up interest or get exposure to your program...

We will never have the deep rich SEC tradition Missery has though... We wont be busting in to dominate either.

But at least they are trying to put the product out there in the biggest market for kids to see...

SEC has scheduling problems. Funny to watch them squirm.

Yea, they do. It's going to be a scramble for them.

What do you mean they have a scheduling problem? Care to elaborate for the slow kids?

Why is the SEC making a change?

If you've checked Twitter at all recently,*you've probably heard that the SEC is making a tweak in their league schedule rules. The league will not move to nine league games as some had previously speculated (at least, not yet), but the move does impact the available inventory of out-of-conference games, which will impact BYU. We try to separate the fact from the fiction, and explain exactly what this new development means

There are a few reasons. Currently, SEC teams play eight conference games, the same as the ACC and Big Ten (although the Big Ten will switch to a nine-game conference schedule in 2016). The Pac-12 and the Big 12 currently play nine conference games. As the SEC expanded, some schools were concerned that if the number of league games didn't grow, some schools would be at a significant schedule imbalance, especially with some matchups protected as rivalries. Others were concerned that playing eight SEC games, instead of nine, would limit inventory for the new SEC Network. Finally, with strength of schedule a part of the playoff selection criteria, some felt that adding another SEC game would further bolster the credentials of SEC schools.

However, most coaches, outside of Nick Saban anyway, felt that adding a ninth game would simply increase the chances than SEC teams would beat up on each other, putting them at a disadvantage compared to champs from the Big Ten, Pac-12 and others. A hybrid proposal seemed like the best compromise for the short term, an eight-plus-one model. Now, each SEC school will be required to play one school from a "Power 5" conference (the Big 10, ACC, Big 12 or Pac-12) on top of their eight conference games.

The bright side is, you are potentially going to get to watch some awesome teams come to Lawrence. K-State gets Auburn in Manhattan in a couple of weeks. Now, I don't think they scheduled K-State in the same way the SEC is looking at Kansas, but........:D

I remember when KSU scheduled Auburn and everyone said "are they crazy?" Then you went down there and got ass-raped

I have a feeling the SEC will abuse Kansas like a $3 Mexican hooker. Jesus this is going to hurt. But at least we will look good while it happens.

Except our slate is already full for the next several years and we don't have room to even consider adding SEC schools. Obv you didn't read the article either. We're not playing them

Big 12 already plays a 9 game conf schedule. Not sure what these other conferences are going to do.

Has anyone corroborated this falling asleep story? Everyone keeps pointing to this same hater's column.

Sirhan Sirhan Zinger was nothing but target practice by Cholly. Several old war horses wanted to take $12.5m guaranteed from this amateur A.D. to fund their retirements. But the guy who got the gig is a professional con man. He can't coach but damn can he blow smoke up people's asses.

Need to hire a young and hungry guy, like Mango Mason or even Allen. People laugh at Allen but he did win 4-5 games. Weis would act like he was Bear Bryant if he was going all Allen on the league.
