That Ferentz thing doesn't really scare me, just as many coordinators have failed as college coaches, if he feels comfortable with the guy so far his judgment has been fine.

I didn't like Ferentz at first as a head coach...but I watched Iowa in their bowl game and they looked like a very well coached team.

Anything has to be better than Herm.

Many of the same reports that reported this so called Pioli-Ferentz "pact" were the same reports that seemed to suggest Pioli going to Cleveland was all but a done deal.

Are there any hardcore Iowa fans on the board that might be able to give some insight on Ferentz?

I'm just sour on the idea of having Kirk Ferentz as coach of the Chiefs, not about the possiblities of Pioli of GM.

Plus they run a pro style offense that features a power running game and lots and lots of play-action...something I like.

I know Ferentz isn't the most exciting choice... I do think I'd rather have him than McDaniels. But if Pioli does as good as everyone thinks he will by feeding his coach good players, that might make a bigger difference than who the coach is. But Ferentz has been in the NFL and runs more of a pro style system than a lot of college coaches.. so it's not like we're hiring Urban Meyer.
