Frankie Perez, after winning by a 1st round TKO, just announced his retirement. He's only 26, said he doesn't want to put his body and his family through this anymore.

That Cote-Burkman fight was magnificent

alnorth 08-23-2015 09:55 PM

Well, that was a weird way to end the night. Oliveira suffered some freak shoulder injury in the first round during a scramble and had to give up while standing.

Nate Diaz vs. Michael Johnson set for UFC on FOX 17 in December

Anyone see this story where Travis Browne's wife is claiming he's dating none other than.....Ronda Rousey. You know, the woman who hates Floyd Mayweather because he's a woman abuser?

Oh how hilarious would that be....

Wife: Ronda Rousey dating hubby while UFC investigates him for domestic violence.

It's been a recent rumor in the MMA world that UFC bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey is dating Travis Browne, now Browne's wife is confirming the story.

Looks like Ronda Rousey's personal life just became a lot more public. Over the past couple weeks, rumors have been cropping up around the internet that the UFC's biggest star and 135 lb champ has been dating one of the promotion's current persona non grata. The man in question? Current UFC heavyweight Travis Browne, who is under investigation by the UFC after his wife publicly accused him of domestic violence back in July.

While Browne's relationship with the UFC has been put on hold lately, including being pulled from recent public events, it seems he's been keeping a much more private relationship with Rousey. Private, at least, until a picture of the two started surfacing on Twitter, and Browne's estranged wife confirmed that he and the bantamweight champion were seeing one another.

Neither Rousey nor Browne have spoken about a relationship between the two of them publicly to date, so we really only have circumstantial evidence along with Browne's wife's word on it. If the rumors are true, however, things could get very interesting for Rousey over the next few weeks.

Some people can't get over it.

Uhhh.... wow.

UFC 190 had over 900,000 buys. This card had Rousey vs Correia, and not much else other than the ancient desiccated zombies of old Brazilian greats.

edit:

UFC 190, headlined by Ronda Rousey's 34-second title defense against Bethe Correia, became perhaps the most surprising pay-per-view hit in U.S. company history.

Current estimates have the show doing a little more than 900,000 buys on pay-per-view, the largest number for a UFC show since UFC 168, on Dec. 28, 2013, the show headlined by the second Chris Weidman vs. Anderson Silva fight and the second Rousey vs. Miesha Tate fight

Ive said it before. With JJ out she is the biggest draw they have.

So, I know this is the MMA thread (but since we don't have an official boxing thread) but the Abner Mares and Leo Santa Cruz fight this Saturday should be good.

It's on free tv as well. ESPN IIRC

I was burned by Mayweather but I'll trust you, and this Bellator crap isn't doing it for me.

Woah, holy shit, big news. Sirens, panic, loud flashy lights and noise.

Lawler/Condit is off for that huge stadium show in UFC 193, Robbie hurt his thumb so that fight is probably delayed but...

Rousey/Holm has been moved up. Rousey will now fight Holm in that huge Australian stadium on November 14th.

Given how much money was shockingly made for the UFC by Rousey on that horrid Brazilian PPV, I imagine the UFC is rubbing their hands in glee. They can also promote this fight on FOX right in the middle of the NFL season, cash in on their biggest star, and even further open up their Australian market in the process.

Yeah. I get it. I bet they're super happy. I don't care about the UFC sale numbers, though. I was far more interested in the Lawler/Condit fight.
