So yeah, not really any suitors and honestly I don't think Spags even wants to. He came out of retirement for Reid's sake and I think he's just happy sticking with Reid until the very end. |
Look at his coaching history
As a coach: Massachusetts (1981–1982) Graduate assistant Washington Redskins (1983) Player personnel intern Lafayette (1984–1986) Defensive line coach & special teams coach Connecticut (1987–1991) Defensive backs coach Connecticut (1989–1991) Defensive coordinator Barcelona Dragons (1992) Defensive line coach & special teams coach Maine (1993) Defensive backs coach Maine (1994) Defensive coordinator & linebackers coach Rutgers (1994–1995) Defensive backs coach Bowling Green (1996–1997) Defensive backs coach Frankfurt Galaxy (1998) Defensive coordinator & linebackers coach Philadelphia Eagles (1999–2000) Defensive assistant Philadelphia Eagles (2001–2003) Defensive backs coach Philadelphia Eagles (2004–2006) Linebackers coach New York Giants (2007–2008) Defensive coordinator St. Louis Rams (2009–2011) Head coach New Orleans Saints (2012) Defensive coordinator Baltimore Ravens (2013) Senior defensive assistant Baltimore Ravens (2014) Secondary coach New York Giants (2015–2017) Defensive coordinator New York Giants (2017) Interim head coach Kansas City Chiefs (2019–present) Defensive coordinator His closet must be amazing. All of that gear. It is a literal Goodwill. |
NFL Europe to NFL Hall of Fame
not bad |
I don't remember what I thought when we hired him, I think I was pretty neutral, but this year his 2nd half adjustments are second to no human being on the planet. Truly legendary adjustments.

Steve gonna dial up Purdypain!
Steve will have a purdy good day in making Mr Irrelevant totally irrelevant |
Do the Chiefs beat the Faketriots in the AFC Championship Game and win the Super Bowl if Spags was the DC over Bob Sutton?
With the same defensive personnel… mediocre secondary, Haglund Eric Berry, Dee Ford, etc. |
Not sure if this was posted but if anybody wants that shirt in spags we trust.

[QUOTE=The Franchise;17376545Who says that he even wants to be a HC again? He's with his buddy Reid and winning rings.[/QUOTE]
Steady job at the ring factory, works with top tier defensive players, cooking up a schemes, teaching up the rookies. Great relationship with offensive minded HC who doesn't micro-manage and gives him tons of credit. Does not have to deal with management, ownership, all the media, and day-to-day crap of being a HC. |
I think Spags will go as long as Reid will go, barring personal matters. Reid partnered with Jim Johnson up until he passed, hopefully Andy retires in 2+ years and then we’ll likely need to rebuild that staff and team with Patrick’s input on the next HC.

GET THAT SHIRT OUTTA HERE

Why wasn't Spags at least up for Assistant Coach award? Jim Schwartz won the award for his job as DC of the Browns but with what Spags did with the young defense of the Chiefs it's hard to imagine he wasn't even a consideration.
|
The only coordinator to have 4 rings? GOAT and if they don't him in the hall of fame then they may as well just say that coordinators aren't allowed to be selected.
|
Good hire.
