Dyson would be on a NL team roster. Most of them have players exactly like him for pinch hitting and switching all the time with the crappy pitcher hitting all the time.

That was not a joke, the Cubs really did give Jeter a number 2 from their scoreboard.

The Ricketts make David Glass look like George Steinbrenner.

Are the Cubs out of money? I'm near Cubs territory so I hear a little grumbling, but I haven't been paying attention.

Not per say the money just a lot of the ownership decisions have been very Glass like from his early days of ownership.

My understanding is that they purged to get youth to establish a core but they have no problem with big spending once they feel like the roster has a chance to win and the big name signings would round out their talent.

Royals opted to wear the powder blue jerseys for Memorial Day this year. Will be the first time the Royals have worn powder blue at night since its reintroduction a few years ago.
The jerseys are the normal power blue with camo script and numbers.

I get that he's a HOFer, and therefore teams are going to give him gifts. But I don't get why the Cubs would be one of those teams. How many times has he played the Cubs in his career?

Sorry if a Q, but did you see this Red Sox fan, who was the most unimpressed catcher of a foul ball ever? 1) Catch Ball; 2) Hand it off to Girlfriend; 3) More Peanuts! See it here:

This year we're still kinda sorta in contention so we have to say invested and suffer just a little more each week.

I much prefer not going oh for May.

You know, in 1980, I was convinced the Royals were the best team in baseball. They got shot down by the Phillies in the World Series.

In 1985 the Royals were probably not the best team in the American League. Toronto and California were both very good that year, but we got hot at the right time.

As long as we're reasonably in the chase, I'll take that. Sure beats losing 100 games per year.

It's a process..... it's a process....it's a process....
