There's going to be plenty of passes to catch and TDs to score. Kelce can decide for himself if he wants to be a part of it.

This.

Rivers is gonna make some throws.

We know to get on top of the them early and keep it close because they always **** it up for themselves in the end.

CupidStunt 09-09-2018 05:21 PM

No one here was more negative in preseason than me about this defense, and nothing has changed, but if you're being a negative nelly right now you have NO CLUE how the NFL currently works.

Mahomes playing like that is everything we hoped. We knew the D was bad, but we couldn't be 100% sure about Mahomes. But the offense is legit and we will be in EVERY SINGLE GAME WE PLAY - all because of that.

Would you rather be us or the Jags going forward? If you say the Jags, you're truly just a dumb mother****er.

FAX 09-09-2018 05:22 PM

Garbage time lasted 2 quarters this outing.

Let's tell Scanlon to scram, though.

Oh ... and Fuller needs to learn how to stay on his feets.

Don't get alarmed at garbage time numbers, it was hot as **** out there today and when it mattered the defense had given up 12 points.

The Chargers are talented but underachieving; the Bills have the least talented roster in the NFL and it's possible that they go 0-16?

So it doesn't happen all the time that teams up big give up 500+ yds on D? This D is embarrassing and inept.

Best22 09-09-2018 05:23 PM

Nice win

The defense isn't very good but I'm glad we won in dominate fashion

scho63 09-09-2018 05:23 PM

Chargers dropped 5 big passes, dude fumbles punt on 1 leading to our TD that we almost blew with a penalty, our D looked like Swiss Cheese all game, their kicker shanks the most important kick at the end, Tyreek has a 91 TD punt return and another 50+ TD catch and run yet we had to get down to the last 2 minutes to know our fate.

We play like this next week and we lose by 20. No way I see Pittsburgh being sloppy like SD. Add in the fact that we suck balls in that Stadium winning like once in 15 tries.

Defense is what it is.

On a positive note Dee Ford was beasting most of the day.

Water is wet and the Chiefs are who we thought they were. They have holes but they have the talent to make up for it. I love it. We have such a higher ceiling on offense and the defensive performance was as expected. This season is going to be amazing.

Yep. I'm super excited about Mahomes, and that makes my hatred for Bob Sutton and his merry band of bundle of stickss all the more intense. It's the worst goddamn feeling in the world to never feel good about a victory until the clock reads 0:00 because this defense is horrendous.

Hot as hell in LA and the game started with the defense playing 31 of the first 43 snaps.

They got really ****ing tired after the offense wasn’t on the field at all in the first half and t showed.

Don’t care though. This game was over in the 4th when it was 38-20. I don’t give a **** about yards. Rivers got 8 points and like 150 yards of garbage time confetti.

I think there’s a lot of truth to this.

Scandrick worries me a little but overall I can see why things unfolded the way they did. That game was the hottest game of the year probably by far, and it was the first one too with the whole unit playing. They were visibly tired for much of the contest.

If we’re lucky enough to get Berry back, I think we’ll be in business. But make no mistake, this team will be made by its offense and special teams.

I have to admit the CB and Oline did not get enough attention this offseason, one of our 1st two picks should have been a CB/S. Definitely a black mark on Veach on those two. The Watkins signing was also just unnecessary and that money should have gone somewhere else. IMO Andy has his hands heavily into the personnel side regardless of what they say about separation of duties. Hoping for the best with Veach but I am a little concerned already.

According to writings in the New Testament and prior to his conversion, Paul was dedicated to persecuting the early disciples of Chiefs QBs in the area of Kansas City.

In the narrative of the Acts of the Apostles, Paul was traveling on the road from Kansas City to San Francisco on a mission to "arrest them and bring them back to Kansas City" when a newly drafted Chiefs QB appeared to him in a great light.

He was struck blind, but after three days his sight was restored by Pestilence of Chiefsplanet and Paul began to preach that Patrick of Lubbock is the Midwest Messiah and the Son of Pat.

YES!!

This is great news.

Can he just do the season?

Rain Man 09-09-2018 06:30 PM

I wasn't able to participate much in the game thread, but my takeaways are...

A. Tyreek is a top-ten player in the NFL. He can do it all.
B. Patrick Mahomes II is a legit franchise quarterback. This is his second game in the NFL, and the first was only against the first string of the Broncos. That's a fantastic debut.
C. The running backs all played very well today. And Sherman on the bomb? That was awesome. On Tyreek's bomb, I was also amused that Sherman was booking downfield right behind him to block.
D. The OL played well in the first half, less well in the second half. And say what you will about Cam Erving, but the guy plays to the whistle and he hustles. He made a couple of good plays today helping to push an RB forward.
E. Great special teams play today in all phases. Tyreek's return was as much about good blocking as it was a good return.
F. The later long pass to Tyreek illustrates the difference between Patrick Mahomes II and other quarterbacks. I was watching the play and thought, "Oh, dang. He really overthrew Kel- OH MY GOD! There's another receiver further downfield!"
G. I've been picking on Dee Ford a lot, but he hustles. If he had any moves other than a speed move outside, he'd be a good player. It didn't surprise me that his sack came on an inside rush, because the offensive tackle never expects that.
H. Ragland needs to play better. He was the weakest link on defense today. Hitchens made a couple of great plays on screens, but he made more bad plays.
I. Steven Nelson was the MVP of the defense today. He played well.

I'm noting that Tyreek Hill had 267 total yards today on 11 touches. That's nice.

He was our best CB today. Not saying much, but he wasn’t bad at all.

I don't have any issues with Nelson or Fuller. They played as well as one can. I have major issues with Scandrick and the safety play.

He was struck blind, but after three days his sight was restored by Pestilence of Chiefsplanet and Paul began to preach that Patrick of Lubbock is the Midwest Messiah and the Son of Pat.

Your creativity knows no bounds. Well played.

Fuller got abused today, quite a bit actually. Scandrick made a couple of really bad plays but he also made a couple of really good plays too. They’ll figure it out. The safeties are a much bigger issue. When Ron Parker looks like your best player, there’s a big problem.

Nope. The invisible Man, Justin Houston, was the weakest link.

Ragland and Hitchens were missing a ****ton of tackles, the Chargers were going through the A gap with too much ease.
