I havent pulled the trigger because i still haven't looked too deeply yet.

Is it open world? Or is more "scenario'd" if you know what i mean?

What's end game suppose to be like?

Is it all story mode driven and then once you finish the story that's it?

Like i said, never played a Borderlands.

I need to make sure it's what i hope it is because im going to buy two copies, not just one. And potentially 3 copies since it's cross platform. Almost everything i play i play with fam.

Lprechaun 03-29-2022 12:37 PM

So 343 Industries and Wolverine Boot company partnered to make 117 pairs of master chief inspired boots.
They went on sale at 12pm EST today. At 11:59 they were sold out.
On ebay now for up to $2000 the return on investment is substantial.
I was lucky enough to get a pair and will have them signed by Steve Downs before deciding to keep them or sell them for some new Jeep parts.

What kind of ****ing moron would pay $2K for these? LMAO GTFO They're not even boots.

The Story you follow the quest line, side quests galore. Then you have endgame which right now is basically a random assortment of areas, baddies, minibosses and a random boss as well. You can go back and farm any area, it's kind of unique on how it works and other than the storyline quest the rest is up to you. It has a rather large Travel map and you can go back and play through any area as much as you want. Think Loot shooter with tons of quests if that's your thing. Should eventually have mods and such too as Borderlands 3 did. The game has drop in/out coop so it's not server based and you can play how you want on whatever difficulty you like. If you like seeing tons of loot falling from the sky after killing minibosses/bosses then this is your thing.

The game doesn't take itself too seriously, it's supposed to be funny.

If you like it I would suggest you go and play Borderlands 2, one of the best bad guys ever IMO.

I'm assuming this comment stems from the ability to grind for power, thus circumventing much of the difficulty?

If so, I may actually give it a try. I don't mind the grind. I just can't do dying over and over.

ToxSocks 03-30-2022 11:02 AM

So i bought Tiny Tina's Wonderlands for my wife and she spent hours and hours on it, so i picked up a 2nd a copy for myself last night.

Again, i'm new to the Borderlands Franchise:

Thus far (only 8 levels in) I find the writing and theme to be hilarious. "Tiny Tina" is a bit of a breath of fresh air. The game is silly, and i find that refreshing. Thus far the zones have been unique and creative and my wife and i are having a blast blasting through foes and missions.

My only complaint, and it almost made me rage last night, was their bullshit ass servers. The "SHiFT" servers are trash. Initially, it showed both my wife and I as "Offline" even though we clearly werent.

I tried the LAN work around and the game couldn't detect my LAN server. After fiddling with the LAN shit, the SHiFT servers finally started working and we were finally able to get into Mulitplayer Co-Op. Really ****ing frustrating.

You can level your weapon up to +10 in 30 minutes if you know what you're doing and in a couple hours if you follow a guide as a new player.

That puts your DPS near end game levels with just a bit of stat investment.

Also, if you REALLY don't want to grind just have someone drop you some Rune Stacks.

Shift can be a pain, but once you get it working it should work fine. I rarely have any problems playing coop. Oh and welcome to the whimsical world of Borderlands, hilarious stuff for the most part and never takes itself too seriously. :)

If you're on PC and shift doesn't let you connect I find restarting all machines usually cures the problem.

Or just pop in a cheater of some kind to even it out I suppose. (Can't cheat online but I'm assuming single player seems fine)

My favorite is still Borderlands 1, but BL2 was amazing too. :)

Could just be because Borderlands 1 started it all and was a bit more serious but they're all a fun romp. I love the characters in BL3, they have some hilarious zingers and one liners. The bad guys suck(Calypso twins) in BL3 though. The level design in Tiny Tina's is great, tons of unique locations and probably their best work. Also love the D&D setting, makes for fun times.

Even in single player? I mean the game is cracked and offline, not sure how that works.

Pretty sure Htismage doesn't play online anyways. I don't like using god modes but I don't mind eliminating frustrating mechanics like losing everything when you die.

It's just pretty much trial and error, I've found some cool looking ones that kinda suck and some blues that ended up being mad decent. I like the quicker cooldown ones, are you playing a spellshot?

I do. And right now it's double Gun Running money.

**** yeah. I pretty much wait for this ONE time that comes around once a year (maybe twice idk) and do all of my money grinding this week.

You figure with Double Gun Running and Cayo Perico, i can make roughly $3M every 2.5 hours. Possibly more if i go hardcore about it. And with the Nighclub intake running in the background, that's an extra $400K every day-ish or so.

Been having a good time with Tiny Tina's too. Playing it slow, not really blasting through it or power grinding. Only level 13 or 14 thus far.

The level design is amazing so enjoy that, also the endgame is actually great which is super rare in these types of games. ;)

Fish 04-04-2022 10:48 PM

The original Doom game. With RTX ray tracing! :D (Requires RTX capable GPU)

As some of you know, I'm a bit of a Doom nut. Early id games are what hooked me on computer gaming.

Here's how to play: https://github.com/sultim-t/prboom-plus-rt/releases

So, I actually installed this because the gameplay looked pretty cool and I wanted to see if it worked. I ended up playing it for over an hour. LOL. Some very cool nostalgia. It looks surprisingly awesome. You can even enable DLSS, not that it's really necessary. This was a blast, and I've decided to do a complete playthrough.

If you're curious, you can find the Doom .wad file HERE(Doom (v1.9)).

I think I mentioned this before. But just in case, the RTX remaster of Quake 2 on Steam is a really good time as well. That was an incredible game back in the day. I recently replayed that in the RTX campaign. So many memories. I was absolutely shocked when I went into the Multiplayer section, and found tons of active servers full of players. 25 year old game, and the servers were rocking. I totally sucked at it, but it was a fun blast from the past.

It's fun, high quality game.

I've been playing GTA V since its release on PS3. When the PC version came out, i switched to that but i never merged accounts and I started over.

I'm up to over 160+ cars and i own all of the major business content. Gun Running, Coke/Meth/Counterfit Cash, Air Cargo Smuggling, Special Cargo, Nightclub, Arcade, Casino, Auto Shop, Cayo Perico etc.

I pretty much just grind Cash when Rockstar has special $$$ events and then just use that money to buy and customize cars, mostly only buying cars when they go on discount. It's literally all i do in the game, lol.

If you need help money grinding etc, let me know. I can get you paid relatively quickly.

I was the same as you for a couple years. I was in a grind crew and made $700 million, owned everything and loved racing cars. Just moved on eventually and played other games. I'll pop back in and try the new DLC stuff but nothing grabs me.

This new GTA+ crap makes me not want to play again and worries me about GTA6.

Take your time and explore. I ended up kicking off the final battle way before I ever expected the final battle, and it really caught me by surprise. It was kind of a bummer, because I was expecting to level up another 10 levels or so before ever seeing the end.

Great game though.

Really? That was kind of hard to just stumble upon. IIRC it even tells you you're hitting the point of no return.

Yeah, it's my own stupid fault. I heard the warning about it being a big battle and make sure I'm prepared. But I was only level 5 and hadn't even been to several of the other worlds yet. I didn't think it was the actual endgame battle I thought it was just going to be a big important battle. I guess I didn't think it would let me progress to the endgame that quickly for some reason. Dumb decision.

I'm going to try and do the replay thing and do the story again while retaining my stuff, then focus on exploring.

This just came out and looks a bit like Scrap Mechanic, $13.49 on Steam.

If you are at all a fan of Roguelites, Hades is a masterpiece. It plays like an isometric God of war, interesting and charming characters, punchy and satisfying combat, and maybe the best "progression" system in a Roguelite. Can't believe I missed this one, and now I'm spending every night until midnight playing on my Steam Deck. Haven't had hooks like this since Hollow Knight.

Developer made Transistor and Bastion, another in a long line of great games.

I'll look into those. Hades would be an 11/10 with 1 or 2 new biomes and a couple of new bosses.

They usually don't add much, they will just produce a new game sadly. All 3 of those games are very different but great in their own right.

first impression reviews

GriefHelm- 9

a beautiful, stylish game. a 2D fighter with knights vs knights. multiple game modes. reminiscent of Nidhogg, Great Swordsman.

Hellish Quart -8

another 2D fighter that features HEMA style sword fights. controls are Tekken-ish. reminiscent of Bushido Blade. AI isn't very challenging. game is in Early Access so it will be improved, hopefully.

I'm addicted to Noita right now, amazing game that some have THOUSANDS of hours in. I have almost bought Hades several times, but it lacks coop which is pretty much all that I play. Someone made a Noita Coop mod as well as it having Steam workshop mods. :)

I love Noita too. Prolly have 30+ hours in it. Been playing these games on my steam deck. And uhh, holy cow if you haven't really played Hades yet, you should. It's already in my top 3 for Roguelites behind FTL and Enter the Gungeon.

I have not, ghosts have to be turned on for coop mode to work so they may not appear in the coop mod.

I still find Synthetik to be one of my alltime faves. Never got into FTL but Gungeon is awesome. ;)

I also love Monster Train, it's incredibly addictive and almost qualifies as a AAA title.

Keep an eye on this one, it's very risk of rain esque

interesting... like co op considers the other player to be the ghost. I have 173 hours in Noita and I have encountered my ghost only 3 times. the ghost kicked my ass once. I was like... oh yea, I remember crafting that wand

Met the ghost twice. Total pain in the ass and run ender. He has an unbelievable amount of HP.

Fishpicker 05-13-2022 09:27 AM

i think the ghost has the max amount of HP you had during your run on the same seed

a documentary about my favorite pinball machine... Revenge from Mars

it combined pinball with Pepper's ghost magic to add a video element to the pinball playfield

Any good? What’s it like?

And more importantly, is it worth it?

Stryker 05-21-2022 08:54 PM

So question for you guys. Is there really a big difference between PS4 Pro and PS5? At this time, is it REALLY worth upgrading to PS5? Do you previous PS4 Pro owners who upgraded to PS5 actually see value in your choice to upgrade? I.E. notice a dramatic difference? Pro's/Con's?

TIA! :thumb:

Indian Chief 05-21-2022 10:25 PM

Yeah, and I was reluctant to upgrade. Two friends went from a regular PS4 to PS5. I was the only one with a pro. They kept saying how much of a jump it was in performance. Load times are insanely fast. My last game on my PS4 pro was Fallout 4. Insanely long load times. PS5 is a fraction of that. Graphics aren't a huge jump, but they are definitely there.

I have an LG OLED 55" TV I will be playing on so I guess I will take the leap of faith.
