There’s a world where you can enjoy the fact that he dropped as much as he did but think it’s ****ing cruel and sad that some random son of a coordinator felt that it was a good idea to prank him and film it. That’s just depressing all around for everyone, and I can’t imagine defending that on any level.

He doesn’t.

And? Plenty of players without elite talent ended up having good careers in the NFL. Some won SBs. Some ended up in the HoF.

And? That’s why he dropped to the 5th round.

No “collusion”.

No “conspiracy”.

He was evaluated by 32 teams to have Day 3 talent.

Simple as that.

Not really. Plenty of teams who weren’t QB needy didn’t do any work on him at all. Teams like the Chiefs who thought he’d be off the board by their pick in the second didn’t meet with him personally, have any conversations with him, etc. It’s not so simple to just say he’s a day 3 talent because of where this landed.

How many teams who need a QB passed on him on Day 1 and 2?

Steelers

Raiders

Giants

Jets

Saints

Browns

Every team with a pressing need passed on him multiple times.

Dude's a choad. He's an entitled prick, and nobody wanted his attitude and to deal with his dad second guessing them and sticking his nose in their team's business.

It's that simple.

It's not racism-Cam Ward went #1. Nobody's buying that. Sanders is a me-first, take no responsibility asshole-and his dad was like that too. I couldn't stand him as a player.

The Deion thing is definitely an issue.

Smacks of some terrible combination of LeBron playing GM and Lavar Ball hovering.

The kid was born on third base with a silver spoon in his mouth and a golden parachute waiting to catch him if he falls. He'll survive. Hopefully his ego got taken down a few notches. Probably the best thing that could have happened to him.

So was Josh Rosen and they picked him.

FTR I don't think it was racism. I think it absolutely had to do with who his helicopter dad is.

He's going to make far less the next 4 years than he would have made in Colorado in 1. ROFL

Rainbarrel 04-27-2025 05:47 PM

His brothers and sisters treated him worse on his birthdays than this

Yes. I mentioned that earlier. I’m sure a lot of these 1st round guys are now. Or similar.
Something alot of these players will have to adjust to.
Thanks NIL!

Which confirms that NFL teams will overlook “attitude issues” if they think they see elite talent.

Of course they are often wrong about evaluating elite talent, but that’s not the same as a deliberate attempt to “collude” against a player… as some are claiming happened to Fraudeur.

Brady was drafted in the 7th round?

Kurt Warner went undrafted?

Unitas went in the 9th rd, iirc?

Staubach in the 10th?

joe Montana in the 3rd?

History tells us that what round a player was drafted isn't a great indicator for how their career is going to turn out, just saying. Neither is elite talent, whatever that means to the individual, or great athleticism. If those things mattered that much then Ryan Leaf and Jamarcus Russell would've been perennial SB contenders and in the HoF by now, but they ain't.
