19 red zone TDs.
And as we discussed with Lamar Jackson back in 2020 when 24 of Jackson's 38 TDs were inside the red zone, Red Zone touchdown percentage isn't a repeatable skill set. Nobody's shown an ability in NFL history to maintain a superior red zone TD%.
Jackson certainly hasn't ever done it again and as a consequence has averaged 25 TDs/16 games thereafter.
Brock Purdy is, like Jackson, a 22-24 TD/yr passer unless he spikes his red zone TD% in any given year, as he did this year. But we know that's not a real skill but rather a statistical oddity.
He's...fine. He's a MASSIVE asset for the 49ers because he's an average QB making backup punter money. And like I said earlier, he can have moments of really good play because he's just completely fearless and fine+fearless will equal productive as hell for periods.
But it's also going to yield some pretty ragged football when he gets off-kilter. And he'll be easier to get off-kilter than a better player would be.
Purdy doens't worry me.
