No thanks on Cooks

OnTheWarpath15 03-29-2022 10:52 AM

Cooks is going to be 29 and has had like eleventy-billion concussions.

Pass.

If you're going to trade for a guy who you believe is going to be here for the future....then you get a guy like McLaurin...or Metcalf. You don't trade a pick for a guy like Cooks or Lockett.

If Jones agreed to move money forward, you have to think some kind of trade or signing is upcoming. So many avenues they can take it's hard to predict what Veach has up his sleeve.

I think they are probably looking for a 2 year band aid until the guys they draft this year are ready to go full speed ahead. But yeah...McLaurin would be ideal for a long term investment.

Cooks has missed 4 games the last 5 years and has been a 1k receiver in 6 of the last 7 seasons.

How could you not want that for cheap? Pretty sure he’s $13 million this year

chiefforlife 03-29-2022 10:58 AM

Mclaurin is THE most under rated WR in the league. Playing with below average QBs and just produces!

I would give up 50 for him in a heart beat but would hope its 62. Proven studs are better than lottery tickets.

MahomesMagic 03-29-2022 10:58 AM

The nice thing about Cooks is that everyone slots in better as he instantly not only is WR #1 but can make teams pay attention to him..allowing JuJu and MVS to do more damage.

I'd rather have a DE in that situation.

Good luck though. I could see a team trading a wr kon a rookie contract but de is more valued.

staylor26 03-29-2022 10:59 AM

Yea, they have enough short term answers at WR. If they trade for another, it’s a long term solution.

O.city 03-29-2022 11:00 AM

Cooks for like a 3rd wouldn't be awful. Not great but whatever.

Terry not only runs great routes but he is ridiculously explosive.

He should have way more TD's than he does but he usually has no one throwing to him when he breaks wide open.

This is the final year of his rookie deal and a 26 year old WR doing well at his prime, it's going to cost you picks and a nice fat contract.

Trade Tyreek bc he wants too much.
Get draft picks.
Give up high draft pick(s?) for Metcalf
Metcalf wants to be highest paid WR next Spring

What are we doing here?
