It stings, but most of the impact is going downhill with you so unless you land just right you aren't going to do too much damage. its pretty common to eat it like this. Just make sure you ALWAYS wear a helmet. I swear my wife has actually shoveled a snow path with her jaw on a couple of jumps. Hilarious.
