I don't consider him fast by NFL standards, but after the catch he has a BURST! I love this kid. Everything points upward with him. Great pick!

BleedingRed 02-05-2024 09:41 AM

Did someone already post the video of him leaving his house with his community cheering him on?

Hoover 02-05-2024 11:15 AM

It seems like everyone is a Chiefs fan these days, so in order to help my kid convey his Chiefs fandom is legit, his #4 rice jersey arrived this morning!

****in shitbag refs stole like 3 of those TDs off the board.

DrRyan 02-07-2024 08:54 PM

He is starting to remind me of prime Anquon Boldin. Big (Q had about 20 lbs on Rice), physical WR that no DB looked forward to bringing down in the open field. Fitz was an all time great, but I always thought the cardinals offense looked the best when Q was involved early. Several times this season by Rice's 4th catch or so opposing defense were noticeably less interested in contact.

Dunerdr 02-07-2024 09:48 PM

MVChiefFan 02-07-2024 10:22 PM

I just don’t remember many receivers that go from 0 to 60 as fast as he does. It’s just insane how fast he turns it on. He’s also big and strong and doesn’t shy away from contact. I honestly think defensive backs are shocked when he gets going. And, half of them want no part of him. He’s just going to be so unbelievably good!

If he catches 6 balls he breaks Ja'Marr Chase's record for most receptions by a rookie in postseason history.

But according to some, "vEaCh cAn'T dRaFt gOOd WrS".

To be fair, he has missed more than he's hit.

But if Rashee pans out like I think he will, all is forgiven.

Yeah Anquon Boldin is who he reminds me of too. Rice is more wiry, but just as tough to bring down.

Love the kid.

Curious to learn more about him and Pat's sideline disagreement at the end of regulation. I love that he wants the ball if he's open, but I don't necessarily love him jawing at the GOAT in the Super Bowl, if that's what happened.

Oh well, champs.

Titty Meat 02-19-2024 11:54 PM

His drops were pretty bad early on but this guy is one of the biggest reasons why we ended up winning it all. He really came on the last several weeks and that allowed things to open up for the offense

that’s what happened. He came off the field and complained to a coach then said something to Mahomes who went off on him.

Hoover 02-20-2024 06:25 AM

… and then we won the Super Bowl.

Good learning opportunity for the kid.

SAGA45 02-20-2024 07:44 AM

The kid is tough too. There were a lot of plays where it looked like he was hurt and might come out of the game but he stayed in and continued to make plays. Good stuff!

In Rice's defense, he was open. But Mahomes very quickly snapped back and corrected him, and they got back on track.

I just see the competitive fire in both of them to be great in that exchange. Hopefully there's no genuine bad blood between them.

I sure hope not because I was thinking of getting a Rice jersey this time.

I'm gonna guess that they will talk about it in film review and it will be the end of it. You don't want a rookie challenging your future HOF QB in the SB. However, you also have to love that fire and want to win in him.

I doubt it lingers. Heat of the moment thing.

But, next year if he complains about not getting the ball publicly, or another blow up occurs on the sideline..... now, we got a problem. Cross that bridge when we get there. if ever.

Dunerdr 02-20-2024 09:16 AM

I feel like Rice will really start taking over that Kelce intermediate pass role next season. With that in mind we need to stay aggressive finding other pieces that compliment him.

I forget where I heard it from, but Rice supposedly has been following Kelce around all year trying to get up to speed and improve as a WR. Felt like it checked out because toward the second half of the season, he settled into those soft spots in coverage just like Kelce did. Would really put my mind at ease knowing that there's someone out there trying to fill Kelce's zone beater role as he gets older.

I know Kelce mentioned talking to Rashee on the sidelines after a failed drive around mid season on his pod. But a few times you could see them on the broadcast walking off and walking on the field together. Rice has the physical traits to get open and create seperation at the line, if the becomes KillaTravs understudy the sky or the 40 time is the limit.

I don't know. He was good and he was fed volume because the rest of the WR's were hot garbage.

Not sure he was developed to his potential.

I'll believe it when there is more variety to the routes he wins on.

Well for Rice to reach his full potential as a rookie in Andy's offense seems like an extreme measurement. But yeah Embree has a lot to prove as the WRs coach going forward.

When our offense was sputtering and we needed SOMEONE to win 15 yards past the LOS why could Rice not being running some deeper posts or slants?

It was just the sideways Nagy shit or the shallow crossers 90 percent of the time.

All the reports of him being a shitty human seem to be true. To me, it’s more of a bad look than positive lol.

Look I’m not defending him or his actions, but all we can say for sure right now is the guy ****ed up big time and probably needs to change how he goes about making choices in life. How he responds to this ****up will determine if he’s a shitty human. And that can only be done with time.

But hey, this is at least a start. If he’s spending his time handing out pizza and water, then that’s time not spent driving dangerously and fleeing the scene of an accident.

JFC only you can somehow turn what is essentially voluntary community service into a bad thing.

"all the reports of him being a shitty human being" = I read it on the internet from 3rd party sources so it must be true.

Rice may well be a shitty human being but anyone being honest knows we don't really have enough info to come to that conclusion.

If “million dollar company pizza party bonus” were a person it would be Rice

ROFL.

I would have throw that shit back at him lol. Used those poor people for publicity. Geez

It would have been hard to hand out pizza anonymously and anytime a famous person does something for poor it’s for publicity you won’t hear about the other kind.

You can’t tell me he did this out of the kindness of his heart lol.

Clearly, it’s a PR move. A very effortless one at that.

This is clearly an attempt at some good PR, but there's nothing wrong with that.

Agree. Seeing a bunch of instagram reels and stories too and all the comments are limited and they are all positive.

Rehabbing his image, now if he rehabs his decision-making process that's a step towards all this going away.

But uh, no more slip-ups man. You're on thin ice for sure

That pizza gesture alone should slash his suspension in half.

Yeah starving people are going to throw his good gesture back at him. Are you that clueless?

If course it's a PR move, but who gives a ****. He fed hungry people
