I envy the Cardinals, every baseball fan does. Best franchise in sports. They do everything right.

That's great, but you should know not to poke the bears when they are pissed off. How would you have felt if I was laughing at Royals fans for complaining during the WC game by mentioning that the Cubs have far more institutional futility?

That doesn't strike you as douchey?

I respect that, sir. I've never liked the Bears, either. Always a Chiefs fan. The Royals were a tougher sell, but I've always pulled for them. The last 8 years I've been a fanatic, huge Greinke fan but had to retire that jersey.

Well the Royals definitely deserve their fare share of good luck, 29 years is a long time to wait. I think we can both agree on that.

I was diehard MJ when I was a kid, man. It was unhealthy. They wheeled in a TV to my 3rd grade classroom in Lenexa, KS to show MJs retirement and I cried, uncontrollably, and my dad had to come pick me up from school.

lcarus 10-12-2014 09:05 PM

Sorry to derail this Cardinals thread with my personal BS by the way...hell of a game going on right now

Funny story, two weeks ago we were playing golf at TPC south wind in Memphis. Penny was hitting balls on the range two spots down from me.

Or should I say butch McRae

The baseball retirement or the 1998 retirement?

THE AIR ZOOM FLIGHT '96. I got those my freshman year of HS. Loved those shoes. Someone stole them out of my gym locker.

I think he coaches HS basketball near Memphis. His childhood friend was the coach and got terminal cancer so Penny took over for him. They did a story on ESPN about it. Pretty cool.

A couple other people on my freshman bball team had those shoes and one guy had them stolen. I also knew a guy who stole some. Those were probably the most stolen shoes of 1996 lol

I know what you mean. Just having some fun. I'll be honest, I'm past it with the Royals. No one on that team deserves anything but praise and I constantly rip fans in GDT who start calling players out. Those guys in blue deserve NOTHING but our cheers from here on out.

If I were a Cardinals fan, it would be 100% different. You guys are there ever year and it's World Series or bust. I envy it, and jealousy causes me to poke the bear from time to time.

I just didn't know banning people from threads was a real thing on this site. Hell, 95% of the board should be banned from Chiefs GDT if my luck comment is really ban worthy

Swanman 10-12-2014 09:10 PM

Those Directv commercials are ****ing reeruned. They are basically saying only they have HD and digital sound.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-12-2014 09:10 PM

IMO, the Cardinals should start AJ over Cruz. The Giants had fewer steals than the Cardinals this year.

93.

I was 8.

My mom has a closet at our house of my Bulls jerseys over the years. It's hilarious. Probably had 100 MJ jerseys in various sizes received between age 5 and 13 (and even a Wizards one, too lol)

Holy shit. Jerseys are ****ing expensive. Even the cheap knockoff ones aren't exactly cheap when you have that many. It took a lot to get my parents to get me those Penny shoes.

Dude, I'm sober. I do nothing ban worthy on this site. Ever. I'm an active sports poster...I don't even participate in many non sports topics. Banning me would be ridiculous but it's me, so I get it. But if the Royals start losing because I'm banned and no longer a participant, lew is going to hunt you down

If Cruz starts, AJ should just walk. I believe the Red Sox have already paid his salary. Starting cruz is not defensible especially with Lackey starting.

Hootie 10-12-2014 09:22 PM

Has Rosenthal ever had a clean inning in his entire career?

I do understand the hate for the Cards from KC fans. But on the flipside, they do everything and have done everything we wish the Royals would do. Draft well, develop players and play hot playoff ball year after year. It's the formula for the Royals to win in this league.
