We know he hyperextended his knee and even if his ACL has no structural damage there is still risk. When we are talking about bone bruising or an injury to the capsule around the knee things that themselves can be multi week absences as the swelling calms down and as pain improves. Even if no structural damage in terms of the ligaments and minisci. If you have persistent pain from a bone bruise where the front end of the joint bumps together really hard from the hyperextension. That pain can inhibit the function of your muscles around your knee and impair the ability to protect the ligaments in the knee.

I just watched a video from Brian Sutterer MD on YouTube. I'm sure he knows 99% more than most of us know. He said he would be very surprised it Kelce played but would be optimistic long term for the season.

HOLD HIM OUT

I refuse to give that guy anymore clicks. He has become insufferable and his "bad cop" schtick is worn out.

Amazing that people keep promoting their content for them and giving them clicks that directly put money in their pockets as a reward for saying things like that

Did Sutterer examine Kelce, or at least get his hands on video of the incident?

If the training staff gives a green light and Kelce feels up to it, he can and will play.

Jason Kelce’s interview made it sound like he’s going to go. Said no damage, just dealing with pain.

And that pain is a reason it becomes exponentially easier to re-injure that area. You don't want to **** with knees.

If it’s only pain management, expect him to play. Mahomes set a high bar with that and would never let Kelce live it down if he chose not to play over pain.

Won’t disagree. Just saying that Mahomes set a high bar that Kelce would want to meet. Now if the training staff and coaching staff feel that he shouldn’t play due what you are mentioning, then that is different.

Pain isn’t an issue but if it’s the knee he had surgery on I would be more cautious

No problems letting Kelce get a week and a half of rest if there's any call for that. This is just an NFC game in week 1
