ChiefsPlanet - Other Sports Big 10 Report: Conference Realignment

I've been saying all along that KU is at the mercy of others and I completely understand why. That's why I'm hoping the BEAST or PAC10 thing happens. I think the most realistic chance our schools have right now is the Big East, but apparently you'd rather want MWC so you can go to Vegas. I'm saying you should hope for the Big East as well, you can always resign to the fact that you're a mid-major once (or if) it happens.

For one, mid-major applies to basketball teams that either don't have a football program, or have a FCS football program. The Mountain West is not a "mid-major" conference.

I also know if KSU ends up in the Big East, it would be ok, but I see the same shit taking place in another 10 years or so. The state of Kansas won't magically grow by 3 million people in that time period, so we'll be in the same boat.

Oh, and Vegas, Fort Collins, San Diego > Ames, Columbia, Lincoln, etc.

I don't consider Lawrence a road trip considering the fact I live 20 minutes away. :)

College athletics is not a ****ing charity. This is why I never held any animosity towards NU or MU about leaving for greener pastures. Why would Texas make concessions to other, less fortunate schools? Texas' AD is the biggest in the country and so is their endowment fund (public schools at least). Texas can do whatever the **** they want and nobody should blame them for anything.

Yeah, but you know it's also used to differentiate between BCS and non-BCS conferences.

Tom Osborne had a sandy vagina and is going to a conference where he has a chance to win. The Big 10 is the best athletic and academic conference in the world, and fits Nebraska's profile of academics.
