Tonight is a celebration for me, almost as proud of todays accomplishment as I was graduating Army basic/ait... going with a local pizzeria that has many employees who still speak Italian, and they get everything but the crust and sauce from the Hill in St Louis.

Some real deal pizza, they're expensive but for a good reason.

Its gonna be a DOUBLE meat lovers, bitches!

Like Dayze before me, I graduated CDL school today.

It was a five month grind, compared to most places month long deal... but back in October 2014 the feds finally decided to grant student loans for cdl school, because to pay for it yourself was over 4k and I just didnt have that to spare.

Had part of it, but to go all in would've left me homeless... so I was incredibly thankful that the feds FINALLY allowed federal funding for cdl, to cover the 20 week curriculum they included hazmat, flatbed and forklift.

THANKS, OBAMA.

So anyway, today was a hard earned victory, spent over 3k in gas just going 45 miles one way back n forth to school 5 days a week.

Nervous as a hog in a slaughterhouse this morning.

Congrats 6. I don't know where you are at, but in my part of the world there is a huge shortage of drivers.

Thanks bro, it seems to be that way all over.

A little tougher to find the home every night jobs like I want, but push comes to shove there are 1000's of, basically equal to, $20-30 an hour jobs out there.

Thank you... seriously, that old image of Seabass truckers out there able to do the job if they had three teeth in their head and could maybe say their own name is outdated.

That was a reality 10+ years ago, before Illinois governor George Ryan gave CDL's away as political favors and got a family of five burned alive for his trouble, it was wide open... now Illinois is leading the charge for a slew of high standards.

Nationwide standards are going way up , it will soon be uniform standards for every state... used to be you could go to Texas or Alabammy etc and drive a truck in two days.

That sleezy trucker everyone thinks of is still out there, but he is more and more being replaced by well trained people that not only care about themselves, but you fellow travelers even more.

I worked in a Lean Problem Solving workshop with this company. Their problem is that they want dependable young drivers. No clue if they're in your area or not.
