I got to pick a gift for my 20 year anniversary at work, I went with this. Anyone have one and what do you do or like most about it?

I have one. I mainly use it for sauces, soups, quick salsas, and salad dressings.

I really like it, though. Saves having to pour hot stuff from the stovetop into the food processor then back.

I had a clear plastic hand mixer for the last two years. I realized just yesterday that all the black stuff in the middle...yeah that's mold. :deevee: Threw it out.

Time for a new hand mixer...that doesn't let water seep in.

Anyway, those are convenient when I'm making applesauce.

Do you use the slicer, I wasn't sure how that worked?

I don't use the slicer, no. In fact, the first thing I did after getting it was toss the slicer and container attachments. I use a food mandoline and food processor, respectively, for that kind of shit.

In my opinion, the main advantages of the immersion blender are that it's easier to clean than food processor and doesn't require you to remove whatever you're blending from saucepan before blending.

I actually thought about you and your homemade applesauce when I picked it.

Bummer, I was hoping the slicer would come in handy.

I mean... you might really like it. I don't know. I don't slice that much stuff, and, like I said, I use a mandoline (or knife) for that.

If you don't already use a mandoline, you might really like the slicer.

Just roasted a pork loin. Seasoned with kosher salt, black pepper, garlic and thyme. Easy and delicious.

Need to add rosemary next time and pick a sauce.

The Indian food you eat should kill the mold.

Not concerned about the trace amounts of mold I might be ingesting from handling my mixer...just gross to look at and have around.

I'll get a nice stainless steel one I think.

Cherry sauce goes well with pork, I'm going to have to work on sauces.

Chuck steak - not chuck eye - is pretty tasty if you treat it right. And cheap!
