With how much this offense is going to score, 2 down run stuffers have little value.

He was definitely not "the guy" and apparently, Clark Hunt knew it (or got lucky).

I'm a fan of Veach.

Slam me if you want because I was a fan of Dorsey as well so...

They don't need superstars, just guys that are available and can be average.

Chris Jones is a monster when healthy and with Hitchens, Houston and a 100% healthy Reggie Ragland, the defense will be be drastically improved (not to mention, a healthy Eric Berry).

Exactly

Hankins with an 85.0 grade last year, 20th amongst D-Linemen. He will be paid beyond what we can afford.

Mother****erJones 03-17-2018 12:49 PM

KC needs a disrupting NT. That’s ideal. Pass rush pass rush pass rush. This offense is gona score a lot. Let Houston and co. tee off.

True but it wouldn’t hurt to pick up a good NT if we can affordably.

If this defense becomes legitimately good against the run, teams can’t even try to slow the game down like they inevitably will against the offense.

Hennes deal

Former #Jaguars backup QB Chad Henne, who visited #Titans, signed w/ #Chiefs for 2 years, $6.7M, not incl performance incentives & escalators, per source. $3.1M signing bonus, $1.015 base in 2018, $2.5M base ($1M gtd) in 2019, plus workout bonuses. Essentially 1-year, $5.15M gtd.

If you can't stop the run, then you aren't going to get the opportunities to score all the points you think this offense is going to score.

Hankins and Logan have comparable numbers. Hankins is younger.
Might end up being whoever comes cheaper.

And pass on Sylvester Williams. No pass rush upside and nearing 30.

Then why was he cut?

The Colts defense was pretty awful and they have $65 million in cap space.

Eh, they’re ****ed if Henne has to play anyways so I’m good with this

They’re switching their scheme according to Rapoport.

Might be that that they don't think he's a scheme fit, switching from a 34 base to a 43.

Hitchens and a healthy Ragland are a huge upgrade overall.

The Chiefs don't need to break the bank again on a 2 down NT, they just need an adequate run stuffer at NT, IMO.
